Lovenox IV
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is anyone giving Lovenox IV, we have just had an MD order it and have not given it by this route and the MD could not give us much evidence other than other hospitals are giving it IV as a bolus when starting anticoagulant therapy. Thanks

I've only given it subq.
What does your pharmacist say? Can it be given IV according to pharmacy?

I've always given it SQ. Is it even FDA approved for IV use?

I also have not. Has anyone seen azithromycin I.v. for an infant? How young a child has anyone seen it used I.V?

All the literature that I can find says that Lovenox is to be administered sc. I would NOT administer it IV. If the doc wants it given that way, then he will be invited to administer each dose needed.

We give a 30mg IV loading dose as an ACS protocol. We are a regional MI center.
