  1. I probably would not. I do know I would have went to college and had more opportunities than a diploma gives me. Of coorifice, I may be getting tired with almost 30 years behind me. Hospital nursing and all that goes with it gets old after a while.
  2. An out patient infusion is getting vancomycin 1500 mg in 250ml once a day. Does anyone know if this can still be given over one hour in a central line.
  3. My ultra sound was normal. The plan is if this repeats I will take the pill for a couple of cycles and hope this straightens it out. Thanks for all your replys.
  4. having an ultrasound tomorrow. (not sleeping tonight). Im on day 13 but have slowed down a bit.
  5. Im asking for any imformation as to what is the plan of care for this problem. Im calling to make an appointment tomorrow and would like to have and idea. Thank you.
  6. Id like to see a different neck line. I cant wear the v- neck line for scrubs with the bending down I do. Im either warm with layering or see too much. So I dont wear them. I also agree with professional colors/patterns so that I dont feel like Im a neon sign or wearing pajamas.
  7. $5:25 in 1978. The starting nurses make about $18 something now.
  8. Thank you for your replys. I work in a general pediatric unit and two of our pediatricians now order cath ua's for all infants admitted for elevated temps. We used to always bag but now this is not the trend.
  9. I am fustrated not being successful at catheterizing infant females. It also seems like we are getting more orders to do these now. Id like to have any hints from holding the tube to positoning or the angle of tube insertion. I feel i have the right spot but it isnt. Sorry if there is previous threads. If there is , please guide me how to find them for infants. Thank you.
  10. Thank you all for your replys. My first thought was thigh because we always think thigh. Then, looking back, wondered if there was a better subq place for an infant. Everything happened fast and things went well. It was a learning experience that I hope not to see again.
  11. Yes this was my first in many years of nursing. Baby was a first time formula allergy and was in anaphylactic shock.
  12. Any advice with experience with epininephrine subq for an infant? Is the thigh the best place for this and do you use a needle smaller than a 25. How comman is a whitish color to the skin for an hour or so? If not how do you prevent this?
  13. I also have not. Has anyone seen azithromycin I.v. for an infant? How young a child has anyone seen it used I.V?
  14. Please explain to me how to search for the Emergency Nurse I.V. tips and tricks. Thank You.
  15. I was put in this situation. After much interaction between people higher up then me , the antibiotic was changed. My concern is that it will come up again because one source said it was o.k. even though there were several that did not recommend it. The source I was told said it was o.k. is the Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy. My questian is how do you pick one source as the right one. And also I would like to know if anyone anywhere uses this med I.v. for infants and young children. We have never.
