I'd wait another couple of week and then just mention it to your manager- or send her an email. Say that you're really enjoying your time at the facility and you'd like to be considered for a full time position the next one opens up. Ask her to keep you updated about when a full time slot will open up.

I'd make it known to the DON or your manager that you are interested in full time work. I've had some excellent per diem nurses who I tried to convince to work full time. They weren't interested. I've had per diem nurses tell me after their first few shifts that they love the facility and wanted to work more hours. Things change all the time. A full time job could open up any day. You've already had orientation and have shown them you do a good job. They would most likey want to give you a staff position.

I just went from on-call to a part time position, I made it widely known that I wanted a position.

I told the manager who hired me that I loved working there and would like to quit my full time job so I could work there.

Also the staff knew that I wanted a position, so when a nurse in a position went to on-call the staff suggested to the manger that I should be considered.

Then she called and offered me the position, normally they are supposed to post the position and allow staff to apply for it if they want it, but it didn't work out that way. I actually feel really lucky, because the facility laid off 3 full time RNs in favor of hiring LPNs and med aides
