hello, i submitted my rn application this year to los medanos college. i was wondering if anyone else has applied and has gotten any email from the college. they said the results will be within one week, but still i wanted to know if anyone has so far received any emails regarding the application.
I've got a question for those of you on this thread doing LVN vs. ADN at los medanos. I heard that most hospitals were phasing out the LVN's. Also, how difficult is it to pathway once you have the LVN to the RN program. I've only met one person who graduated from LMC's LVN program but she's still trying to get in via lottery for ADN.The LVN is three semesters but ADN is only 4? I'm exploring these options too and wondering does it make more sense to simply complete anatomy, physiology and microbiology and apply for ADN in Spring 2017 vs. Starting an LVN program which seems to imply that you can't start ADN for over 2 years.
Any input or feedback would be appreciated.
Also, what's the quality of the instructors at los medanos for LVN? placement rates?
Thanks soo much!
I have been an LVN for 5 years and to be honest, I feel it was a waste of my time and money. Finding a job as an LVN is like pulling teeth....the only options you have are SNF, Home Health or if you are lucky, working in a clinic at one of the major hospitals (Kaiser, Sutter, ect).
You are better off going for your RN. There are so many LVN's coming out of school that the job market is saturated with them. As an RN, you have more opportunities because of the new grad programs along with the desperate need for RN's.
I have friends that have just received their RN license & found jobs right away. I have friends that are LVN's STILL looking for work 1 year later....
HTH!

Hi Mauwan. I haven't heard anything about a meet and greet. I didn't even know we were having one.
