Hello all, is anybody applying to Los Medanos CC for fall 2011. I just sent in my application with my fingers crossed:up:
They will send a list (actually a photocopy of the fronts) of the textbooks once you pass the TEAS and accept the final acceptance. They have a book bundle that says if you buy them at the LMC bookstore, they will also include the ebook for all textbooks free. Not cheap! About 700-900. The bookstore does not have them yet. It also says the online/ebooks being free is ONLY available if you buy from LMC. Good way to force us to buy there. You will also need your CPR for the professional rescuer, your physical and immunization forms completed, background check and urine drug screen. Time will fly by! Study hard. Don't stress. Good luck
Hey everyone,I also got on the alternate list and scheduled to take the TEAS test on 6/21. I took the TEAS test 3.0 back in 2009, but the letter i received mentioned TEAS 4.0 & 5.0. Do I still need to retake the test, or can I just use my results from my previous test?
Thanks alot!
I am pretty sure you must take the TEAS 4. If in doubt, you may want to call the nursing dept. Also, if you have the handbook for 2011 it says which teas are accepted.
Good luck!
Hi Denise, I was wondering if you can help me out with the science portion of the Teas exam. Is there anything you can recall that can better prepare me for the exam? I am also worried about the time limit on each section. Did you feel rushed at all during your exam? I am scheduled to take it from 5-10pm. Does it really take that long? Thanks in advance fir all your help.

Hi,
I cannot remember the exact questions, but they did ask a few chemistry questions one i remember about which was an acid..all multiple choice remember. There were several on basic anatomy, and biology. Study the science portion more than others. The English, punctuation, reading comprehension and
math is really basic stuff that is very easy. You will have way more time than you need. The proctor will even tell you there is no way you need 5 hours. I was out of there by 7. Relax and don't stress. Most important read the questions carefully. Sometimes simple misreading can throw you off. Sorry I cannot remember more specific science questions. Did you get the Online practice exam? It is worth it, if you did not. Good luck. Hope to hear from you after the exam!

Hi Denise,
Thanks for that email. I'm sorry but for some reason it will not let me reply back to you. I wish I had the version4 study guide, but I had already purchased the version5 a while back. The version5 does not go over anything you mentioned for the science section. I am so nervous about the exam, and I feel like I need more time to study. Thank you again for all your help. I really do appreciate it, and would really love to make it to the Meet and Greet if I can pass this exam.

We are on the same boat right now, and I feel the same way you do. I am so scared. What subject do you feel your weakness is in? The science portion in the version5 study guide is killing me. I know nothing about rocks, magmas, or tectonic plates. This version does not mention anything in that subject. This past week went by so fast for me, and I wish we had a few more weeks to prepare for this big exam. On this website I have been reading so much about everyones outcome on their exam, and what scares me the most are the posting that say "I have been studying for months now, and I failed my exam." I am trying to stay positive. I really want to pass and it sucks that we only get one chance. Have you purchased the version4 online practice? I did, and I scored pretty low on it. I really hope we can both pass this exam. Good Luck!

No, sorry my packet does not mention anything about textbooks, it just says the pre test study manual is available for reserve at the library.
Thank you Jen for sending me the picture I requested.
