Los Medanos College (LMC) ADN Fall 2024

Published

I am posting this for the students applying to LMC's Nursing program that starts in Fall of 2024. This is for everyone to meet, congregate, post statistics, and help one another in the application process.

The application opened on 1/3/24 and is set to close 2/2/24.

Good Luck Everyone!

Hey everyone!

I applied on Jan. 25th and am still waiting to hear back. I applied with 55 points I believe and I'm currently studying for the TEAS 7. I got a 76 the first time so I'm trying to increase my score. I probably won't take it until I hear back from LMC towards June.

Sending everyone good vibes and hoping for the best!

Same I applied on the 10th with 60 points

I haven't received anything yet?

I finally received my phase 1 letter

I applied on January 10th

when do you think we will receive phase 2?

If they just got to it, and you submitted over 2 months ago. I'm guessing another 2 -3 months.

I am interested in applying to Fall 2025 next year in February. I have a BS in an unrelated field and want to change my career. I was pre-nursing at my CSU before I switched majors, and so I have most pre-requisites done, I just need to take Micro and retake a class I got a B- in. Do you guys have any tips as to how you prepared for your application? I want to start preparing as early as I can so I can be ready!

@danielleben

the apps are very simple.  Since you have time, read through each schools application handbook and understand what their application criteria is and identify if there's an opportunity for you to maximize on your application points, if the school is merit based, and making sure you meet all the requirements.  Additionally, understanding how many times you are allocated to take the TEAS 7 entrance exam, when you should take it, if you are allowed to take it, which score is accepted (highest score or the last I e you took), and give yourself time to study.

you should be set up to apply to all the schools you want with this plan.  Happy studies, wishing you the best in your nursing journey!

Yeah, I only got a 70. I am going to retake it after Phase 2 notifications.

I thought we were only allowed to turn in our first TEAS score? Are we allowed to retake it for Fall 2024?

Hey Lisa!

that used to be the case and if you didn't get the score you wanted you would have to go through remediation to take it again but they changed it this year and now you are allowed to take it up to two times but that means there is no remediation if you don't achieve the score you want the first two times. I hope that makes sense 🙂

Hi Leslie R,

Have you heard anything from LMC about phase 1 yet? I applied on Jan 23 but haven't received any news from them. I am very nervous

Leslie this is the BEST news!!

I got straight A's in all my pre-reqs (while working full time, its been a LOT of work) and have 50 points for phase 1 (no email notification yet, but I applied near the end of the application process) but took my TEAS before I finished pre-reqs (for practice) and only got a 74% and was so SO bummed that I didn't get to re-take for this program.

Looking more closely at the 2024 RN Applicant Handbook on page two it says you can take the TEAS once, and two other spots further on in the handbook states two.

Thank you!!

Hey!
I haven't heard back yet but I think according to the timeline we should hear back next month hopefully or beginning of May. I'm really nervous too. But hang in there we got this!

I know when I was reading through the handbook in January and was so relieved that I could retake it. Because I had taken it in December and got 76 but I wasn't happy with it. When do you plan to retake it?
yeah the handbook does say just once and then it mentions the amend to the rule.
Hopefully we hear back soon cause the wait is killing me 😞

Leslie and Lisa,

I applied last year and heard about moving from phase 1 to phase 2 on 5/30/23, so expect some time the last week of May for peace of mind. My understanding there is one person going through the applications and that is why some people have received phase 1 verification and some haven't. They don't make any decisions about phase 2 until all applications are reviewed so there is no need to be worried.

I ended up having a personal circumstance that made me decide to drop out of the application process and reapply this year so I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't taken the TEAS yet because I want to try and do my best the first time. I noticed how the handbook was written in January also, it may net have been fully edited but I am really excited that you can take it twice!

I hope this gives clarity and insight to the process. Trust the process. We got this!
