Anyone have any thoughts on the ER doctor from Los Gatos who has been all over the news today? Apparently a college student came in complaining of an anxiety attack and according to the news, the patient was "taunted." The patient was asking for pain and anxiety meds. I definitely think this is an example of burnout. It seems like the physician didn't think a visit to the ER was warranted and she was upset because she had sicker people to take care of. I'm not condoning how she handled the situation, I just think we really need to address burnout.

Generalised pain is not a symptom of anxiety, specific pain as I clarified later (tetany) is.Of course I'm awesome... I'm Scottish!!
When I open Allnurses posts have a small biography of the poster at the bottom ie X is from TX or UK or whatever. They have X amount of years experience and specialise in ED or NICU or ICU or whatever. Can't help it that your device does not show this.
Grumpy, your history/location is not showing at the bottom of your posts. Others in this thread ARE showing. Did you somehow change your settings?
Experience and location info per a recent change can be added to the online/post profile. People complained about the change being automatic and info was provided about how to go into settings and change that feature back to not showing. This probably has something to do with why Grumpy's info does or does not show on posts.
