Hello, My name is Emmely. I just applied to the LAVC nursing program and I wanted to start a topic so that we can keep eachother updated on status.
Hello, i just called the lavc program right now and they said that they have not sent any emails yet but they will send out emails before they go on winter break to update us on whether or not we have been selected to move foward with the process..but cannot give a date because they are still working on it. If you do not reply to thier email about sending in your teas score/ or taking the teas then they will start to call people and notify you by phone.

If they haven't sent out emails how have people already been accepted?
My TEAS score was a 70%, but for most community colleges... you just need a minimum passing score of 62% and you are already eligible! They first emailed me asking me to send my TEAS score, which I had already done a month before they emailed me. They called me and left a voicemail about the TEAS again but didnt answer. So I called them back on the phone the following morning to confirm if they received it. Once they confirmed they received it, they said they have a seat for me in their program & I accepted the offer right away! So basically, first they emailed, then called on the phone!
yeah. I haven't even been notified about even BEING in the lottery (assuming I should cause I qualify for many other RN programs). For LACC i was alternate 21, but the counselor there said that in past years they usually only go up to the first 10 alternates.
Was this for the spring semester coming up? For the fall semester at LACC I started at #18 alternate and ended at #1. By then I had my sights on the next semester and wasn't wanted to stress and spend $200 for a 'maybe' spot. They only gave me a weeks notice that I could potentially get in. Not sure if any other alternates got in once the medical packet was released to us. I just got into CSUN's ABSN program so I'll be forfeiting my spots in the lotteries I've won.
the number is (818) 947-2559. I called them about my status, but they said they'd let ppl know by the end of the month. The lady said the lottery was already done, and they'll call or email you if they need the TEAS. I'm guessing they're just going down a list for contacting people in order of which they got in, but I'm not sure.

My friend called yesterday and they told her they will notify all before spring break. Sounds like it's just a waiting game at this point. Praying for us.
