Nursing Students School Programs

Spring 2018 Nursing Thread

Hi guys,

To apply to LA pierce, do I need to apply to the school first before submitting the nursing application?

Do I have to visit the counselor before applying to the nursing program?

Also, does the school send invites for teas or does it have to be completed prior?

I'm trying to increase the nursing schools I'm applying and I'm not from the LA County.

Hi everyone.

I graduated from the program! It was tough program, but I learned a lot.

You better study and study and study during the first semester. When I was in the program, we started 40 students and nearly 15 of them left after the first semester because they couldn't pass ("One-shot" policy...). Only 20 of us actually graduated on time.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

I don't know if you have to apply to the school before the program. I took my prerequisites at Pierce... I think you had to write your student number on the program application, right? If you have taken any classes at any LA county community college, then I am sure you don't have to apply to Pierce. All LA county community colleges are connecting. You don't have to see a counselor at Pierce as long as you make sure you took all prerequisites. I didn't see any before getting into the program.

They will send you TEAS invitation once you apply to the program. You don't have to take it before. I believe they pay for the test too.

For me, I applied to the school because I had to see a counselor to do a course equivalency sheet since I didn't take any of my classes there. I applied last year and I ended up applying late because I didn't know I had to meet with a counselor and when you meet with them you have to have a student ID. It was a little confusing but I reapplied this February so hopefully I get in!
