  1. One of my preceptor was from the Hell... She was taking classes to be an educator. I feel so sorry for her future students. It seemed like she wanted to be an educator so that she could belittle new nurses in front of patients and doctors. She yelled at me "You don't know it!?" in front of patients whenever I asked her questions. She quizzed me about meds in front of patients and when I answered right, she was visibly disappointed. She continued quizzing me until I make one mistake and that was it...for the next 10 min, she just kept scolding me in front of patients. I had more than one preceptor during my orientation, and she got so mad at me for doing things in the ways I learned from other nurses. For her, her way is right and nothing else. She did nothing but confusing me and making me hate this nursing industry that nurses treat other nurses bad. There are nurses who should not be a preceptor at all.
  2. I didn't take any math test either. Only the online test. I received the letter after I started getting calls for interviews.
  3. It totally depends on the time. When I was called for interviews, many units were hiring. When my friend was called for interviews couple months after me, only 2 units were hiring. First, you need to pass online exam and be on the eligible list. Then, HR people will let you know units hiring at the time. If you don't want to work for any of these units, you can wait and call back HR to ask a month later or so. You will be on the eligible list for a year. My friend waited for 2 months (because she didn't want to work for Med-surge or Psych) and got a job at Peds.

  5. Hi! I am sorry for late reply. You need to apply for RN I/Relief Nurse position, no for specific unit. You need to apply and pass online exam first. After passing the exam, you will be on the eligible list for the position for a year. Then, you can call HR and ask which units are hiring at the time. Good luck!
  6. LOL stay away from Victoria's. Yes, I always bought bras from Victoria's just because they are cute, but I started noticing that they are useless when I work and have to move around!! Thank you for the info! I will check out the site, A bra that fits measurement.
  7. Thank you so much for the info! I never heard about the brand, Knix. I just checked the Knix website, and their products look amazing!! They are the kind of bra I was looking for. I will buy some and try. Thank you again amandab13, LPN!!
  8. Thank you for your advice! Yes, I should go to a real shop, not Victoria's. I usually buy bras from Victoria's and even though the shop girl measured me, the straps are falling down... I will look for real shops in my area. Thank you again!
  9. Thank you for your kind comment and advice! Yes, I like tight one too. I am looking at some good sports bras online and hopefully will find "the one" soon. Thank you again for your time, BdgrRN!
  10. I understand, but I wondered if there is any "go-to" bra brands for nurses, just like Dansko for shoes. I am new RN in the unit and somehow feel easy to ask this kind of question to "random internet strangers" than my co-workers (because I'm shy...). I think I will look for some sports bra. Thank you!
  11. I am wondering if anyone knows the best bra to wear while working. I wear regular bras from Victoria's Secret but they are slightly uncomfortable while moving around and walking around. The straps sometimes come off from my shoulders. Should I wear sports bras? I like supportive and comfortable full-cover bras. Please let me know if you know anything! Thank you.
  12. Wow I had a professor just like yours too. My professor was like that. I also had to drive long to get to the clinical site. So, I was so exhausted one day after my clinical and almost slept while driving on my way to home!!! It was so dangerous. Every student in the clinical group was stressed out and did not learn anything. We were not allowed to say anything. Being RN student is like a ... slave sometime. I pray for you. I am sorry to hear that.
  13. Thank you NapsAnd Nursing! I just received the appointment date for my physical today. I can't wait to start working. Hope you are enjoying working at Harbor UCLA!
  14. Hi Neo, thank you for your comment. Yes I run run run as fast as I could. I am now RN and got a job at a better hospital, not at the one I worked as CNA. I am so happy I quitted the old hospital and didn't look back. The one I worked as CNA is now having "open house" to hire more CNAs and RNs 6 months after they let go so many. I can't believe there are hospitals like my old one that don't value workers who worked for long years and just fire them like nothing, and then start hiring more after a short period of time! Thank you again for your time!
  15. NapsAndNursing! Thank you so much for your reply. Wow yours took from July to Jan!? Oh well... I will try to enjoy this time off. One girl I met at HR office during my livescan told me she already had her physical. She was hired for ER department. I think it depends on which department!? Thank you again for your time. I feel much much better now. Now, I think I can be little more patient.
