Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019

Published

Hi there,

Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

First there was an intro lecture, then fluid & electrolytes, pain, hypertension, respiratory, and ending with cancer.

Thank you so much!

I still haven’t heard anything about scheduling my livescan apt. This was an email you all received, correct? I submitted my online app the same day those emails went out. I also haven’t received an official letter in the mail...I had a couple addresses on my app though so maybe they sent it to the wrong one?

Overcast it will be ok, calm down, nursing school has not started yet and I can already feel your anxiety! The live scan will be given after it is approved by HR. So you have to just patiently wait for them to send you the email. As far as your official letter, if you had multiple addresses then yes it is a possibility that it was sent to another address. Just breathe, and contact them about what address is on file. You can call, send email, or visit in person.

In the official letter it talks about bringing money for uniforms because they will be there on June 7. Its 45.00 for a set (top and pant size xxs-xl). It also talks about 250.00 fee that needs to be paid before you start classes. We will also learn about tuition contract, financial aid, and schedule.

Everything will be ok, you did one of the hardest parts and that was getting in!

Yo give them some time. I haven’t received any formal letter of acceptance in the mail either, just an email stating I was accepted. Before even receiving an email to schedule your live scan you need to fill out the on-line form for county, the school emails you the link after you accepted...

once you fill it out & submit successfully you wait until further notice. I believe the county hosp. has to approve first then Erika will email you about scheduling a live scan. It’s a process & takes time. I submitted the online form but now I’m waiting to hear back.

Just relax. I doubt they’ll be sending any official formal acceptance letter in the mail.....take the email acceptance for what it is & move from there.

Lol we all need to chill, school hasn’t even started yet.

Idk much, but i suggest we enjoy this time off. Celebrate you got in. Stop worrying guys! We’ll have plenty to worry about once school starts. Lol

Well technically the hardest part will be going through the program but I agree with everything else you said lol see you on the 7th!

I said "one" of the hardest parts because a lot of people are not fortunate to get into a nursing program and were eligible, so it is very hard (competitive) to get in. My point is there is no need to stress out over the live scan, etc and other such things and school has not even started yet.

@duachangesthingsYou don’t have to be a dick. I was agreeing with you.

Thank you for the info. about what was in the letter....

I emailed Erika confirming they had my correct mailing address so hopefully they can resend it.

I finally have my live-scan And health screening appointment.

Thanks everyone.

I’m reviewing the financial aid tab on the website but it’s a bit vague...I know they don’t accept bog fee waivers, but do they accept Pell Grants?

If I’m not mistaken, they discuss all the options in the catalog:

Hi! Has anyone not yet received an email re live scan appt after filling out the online form? I haven't received any email yet and I asked Erika but she told me the same thing, which is she'll send out an email after HR approves my info sheet. Just wondering if there are others who hasn't scheduled their life scan appt yet like me.
