Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

For those of you who are either getting a rejection letter, or not getting a response at all from other places you have applied, don't let that get to you. We already know that it is the same everywhere: IT IS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT IS WHO YOU KNOW! So, don't let getting rejected from anywhere define you. Every one of us know what we are worth, only we know our struggles, only we know our capabilities. There is a reason why those places are not able to reach 100% passing rates: THEIR FAVORITISM. I have seen how the people who make it into the programs without deserving it, fail exam after exam and still graduate. Yes, they can cheat their way into the program, but can they pass the NCLEX and get their license? Nope! It is sad because they take the place of people who truly deserve to be there, people who will do whatever it takes to learn the profession and pass the state exam at the end. It is their loss and their passing rates are there to show it.

If there is any truth to this.....I get you. I'm willing to work as hard as your bright people. Can't stand cheaters.....throw them out of the jr college system. Totally waiting to rock out when my time comes. Crossing fingers that I find out next week or the week after. "Que May 19th no que nada!"

I kinda don't wanna say....really wanna get into the program though.

I pray that all of us on the forum, especially the ones who have been alternates for other programs like me get in. Positive vibes to us

Hi everyone! I am just trolling this tread and came across this and I have a question for you all and I hope you can give me your input.

I never received this questionnaire mostly becUse I didn't take the TEAS with lacounty. I took it at another school and sent my score to la county. What do you guys think I should do? Was the questionnaire critical?? I'm kind of worried now. Btw I applied for the general RN program to start Fall 2017.

All inputs are welcomed! Congrats to everyone who got accepted, I have not heard back yet :(

I really don't know to be honest. I would call the school if it's not too late.

It said on the questionnaire that it was for advisement purposes only.... Not admission... You should be fine. But I remember calling long ago to ask if my application was complete and one of the things they said was that they received was the questionnaire...so idk if the application is complete without a questionnaire? Call and ask... But it isn't used for admission purposes. That's what it said

Ohh okay thank you all! This kind of makes me feel better. Btw Dr2bscience congrats on your phone call! I hope that's a good sign.

Cjprenurse- thank you for your input but unfortunately it is late now and they will be probably closed until Tuesday because it's a long weekend.

Just to clarify, no one has heard anything about the general RN program right?

Welcome! I received a questionnaire shortly after I mailed in my application and I took the teas somewhere else. I also applied for the generic RN program. I'm not sure if everyone got one or not. No one on here for the generic program has heard anything from the school, so don't worry yet. Is this the only school you applied to? Good luck to you and think positive!!

I didn't receive a questionnaire either and I was worried at first but it really should effect our chance of getting accepted lol what should really matter is our grades

Werid...I also mailed in my application and sent my Teas score. The last thing I spoke with them about was that they received my score. No sign of a questionnaire. Can I ask how you recieved the questionnaire? Via email or ur address mail?

Noo I applied almost eveywhere. The places that were loterry based, I did not get picked (like the rest of the ppl on this forum). Hoping I get into somewhere but I really want to start nursing school, as I'm sure we all do (duah! Lol).

How about you ? Did you apply to other schools?

Mp427- looks like we're on the same boat lol

They mailed the questionnaire to my home address . I applied to Pierce, GCC, valley and county. I didn't get into Pierce or GCC so I'm hoping for county. My friend who went to county years ago told me to apply there because I have good grades and have a better chance at getting in vs. the "lottery" based schools. She says it's a great school but tough. What school isn't though? Lol

Yeaa since I don't have much luck at the gambling that's why I applied to all the schools because of the lottery system lol. Yea you are correct, the county looks at overall grades and they have a point system so have to be positive and hope for the best!
