Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?
I just called and spoke with David. He said letters were sent out last week!! I asked him if it was by mail or email he said I'm not sure but it looks like both. He said to call tomorrow afternoon if I don't get anything by mail tomorrow morning. I asked him if it was for the generic program and he said yes! Makes me so nervous because I haven't received anything from them!!!! 😰ðŸ˜

He is not the person to talk to, don't trust what he says. There is a lady (we aren't supposed to use names on this site), She is the one to ask about our applications. The man you are mentioning seems to give answers out of nowhere. When I would call to find out if they had received my transcripts, he wouldn't know where to look. First he told me no, my transcripts were not there. Then, I would call a few minutes later, and ask to speak to -------------- (the lady) and she would know exactly where to look for them, and found them. Trust me, he doesn't know what's going on. --------------- told me this week that NOBODY has gotten a response yet, she clearly stated that: NOT UNTIL THE END OF MAY, BEGINNING OF JUNE.

Oops! I didn't know we weren't supposed to use names on here! I won't mention anymore names. If he doesn't know what's going on why is he saying they were sent out last week? Thank you for clarifying who you spoke with. It makes me feel a little bit better but I still want to know now!! I'm constantly checking my email hoping I get something from them. I'm glad there is this discussion board to make things a bit easier and keeping us posted.
For those of you who are either getting a rejection letter, or not getting a response at all from other places you have applied, don't let that get to you. We already know that it is the same everywhere: IT IS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT IS WHO YOU KNOW! So, don't let getting rejected from anywhere define you. Every one of us know what we are worth, only we know our struggles, only we know our capabilities. There is a reason why those places are not able to reach 100% passing rates: THEIR FAVORITISM. I have seen how the people who make it into the programs without deserving it, fail exam after exam and still graduate. Yes, they can cheat their way into the program, but can they pass the NCLEX and get their license? Nope! It is sad because they take the place of people who truly deserve to be there, people who will do whatever it takes to learn the profession and pass the state exam at the end. It is their loss and their passing rates are there to show it.

Yes, the lottery system is very unfair!! I'm hoping I get into county this fall. I've also been rejected by 2 schools (Pierce and GCC) so I'm hoping I'll get into county or valley (which is also based on lottery. I feel like I'm losing my mind waiting for an answer! Does anyone know how many spots are available for the generic RN program?
