Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?

i have 84 points altogether

For those admitted into the generic ADN program, do any of you have medical/clinical experience?

I'm doing a complete 180 in my career so I have zero experience. I went back to read through this entire thread (and another from 2010) and from what the students had to say, I feel that not having experience is really going to hurt me.

My stepmom works at LAC+USC and she keeps pushing me to go to county because of the clinical experience I could get. I'm just not sure if my first exposure to working with people and learning clinical skills should be trial by fire.

Just called County, they said that they're still in the process of sending out notifications for those of us still waiting for a response.

The acceptance package says to park at "Lot 10 (on Mission Rd. across from the college, entrance off Zonal)." Where is that on google street? It may be the 12:00am me talking, but I clicked through google street and could not find an entrance to that particular lot. The easiest and most obvious way into that parking lot off Mission Rd or Marengo St has a gate that is closed with a sign directing to a "Zonal Ave ramp." Thanks!

Anybody still waiting for a letter? And does anybody know if tomorrow is the last day theyll send them out? Im anxiously waiting to receive word!

I havent revieved anything either. I called Monday and they said they'll be sending out letters this week, but they didn't say tomorrow is the last day.

Nevermind on my question about where parking lot 10 is. It was answered, but since the allnurses database crash, the posts disappeared.

Someone asked what the cutoff point was for Fall. It's 81.

To those wondering about the point cut-off: we were told at preregistration this morning that it was 81 points.

Edit: You beat me to it Siphon!

How do you get a BLS card, do they tell you, or must you already have the certification before applying? It wasn't part of the original application.

Ricdel, you don't need BLS before applying but you do need it before starting the program. It's easy to do. Just go to the American Heart Association's website and go to the BLS section. They'll have a way for you to search for courses in your area. Then you just look for the dates you're interested in. Going through the AHA's site is the best way to search since it has to be their BLS certification.

Thanks Willow! Still waiting for a response, hopefully today. Hope to see you in fall!
