Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?

Hi everyone, I applied for fall 2012, just received invitation to take the TEAS. Did anyone else get the invitation to do so?

I applied but I'm still waiting for 2 more transcripts to arrive. So I haven't been notified yet.

How long did you have to wait to be invited after you applied?

My last transcript was received last week...

Wow, that's quick. Have they given you enough time to study or is the exam right around the corner? I just got the ATI book but haven't started studying yet.

OMG, the wait is killing me!!! Still waiting for an email telling me when to take my TEAS. Has anyone heard back from county yet? And if so, how much time do they give you before taking the TEAS?

I set my TEAS date for March 3. I think March 3 is the latest date that I see on the letter that they sent. I purchased the ATi book from amazon but have not received it yet.

They received my last transcript today! Hurrah! I just hope i get a letter to take the TEAS soon.

I started studying and the material doesn't look that bad, if the ATI manual is any indication. For some reason I worried the math would involve logs or equation of a circle...without a calculator. But it looks like it goes as far as the first couple of chapters of an intermediate algebra class. So I'm feeling much better about it.

How about the english? that is the part I am worried about. I hear the math is basic....I don't really need to study much of that but I am still waiting on the ATI book...ouch!!

The English doesn't seem so bad either. It's mostly reading comprehension. So being able to answer questions about what you read. Being able to identify the main idea, the topic sentences, etc. They also include charts, graphs, and tables to see if you can make sense of them and extract information from.

Sounds good to me...

By the way, I noticed that County is not accredited by NLN and CCNE....will that be a problem with continuing studies such as BSN and MSN?

Well, it is an approved ADN program with the California Board of Nursing and the degree is accredited by the Commission of Community and Junior Colleges. In their info session, they said that with the accreditation they have, you can go on to a BSN or beyond.

I looked at some of the Cal State RN to BSN programs and the info they have online is that the ADN degree needs to be accredited. Doesn't say if it needs NLN or CNNE accreditation. Actually, I don't think CNNE does accreditation for ADN programs.

Someone else on allnurses said that NLN certification is a bigger deal on the east coast states vs the west coast states. I can't say with any certainty. But when I looked at the number of California schools certified by the NLN, I didn't see that many.

willowita thank you for the response. i saw those comments as well.

Yes i received my letter a couple days ago. Im currently an LVN and trying to do the LVN-RN program for the Summer... I'm so nervous to take TEAS test though  ... I scheduled to take the test for March 3rd ...
