Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?
aspiringnurse16... LACC is Los Angeles Community College and is different than Los Angeles County School of Nursing. For County, you need to be a Los Angeles County resident for at least a year before you can attend the school. LA community college is different, and you will also need to apply to their college of nursing.
oyewolej,90 points is a definite acceptance into county, I got in with 89 last semester.
The deferment plan allows you pay $700 of the $2400 each semester and at the end of school you either get hired by l.a. county or pay back the $2400x4=$9600. If you end up working for county than you won't have to pay back anything but you will have to work for county for 2 years. The deferment plan is just that, it's not a employment contract
The only people who do have an employment contract with county is the WorkForce students(it's a program for county employees interested in nursing)
Good Luck oyewolej
Thanks for the clarification on the deferment plan.
They just shifted my TEAS exam date to Oct 8 so hopefully i get the maximum 20 point on that so i can get in with 90.
Thanks for wishing me luck. I really can't wait to get started.

Congratulations Lingaping!! That's great! I was thinking letters wouldn't be sent out until late Nov. :) Good to hear they are on their way out. If you don't mind me asking, what were your total points?? Wonder what the cut-off will be this semester? I asked ---- during our TEAS exam and she said it was 83 last semester and she was aiming for it being the same for this one. I may just call tomorrow morning and see if I can find out Congrats again! Will u be accepting or are you still waiting on other ADN program acceptance letters?
I had 81 and was rejected last semester. Took 2 more classes, and went in with 88 this time around. I was surprised that they sent out the letters so early this time around, since it was way late last semester. But I'm absolutely fine with it. :) I was so excited I already mailed back my seat acceptance notification at the post office.
Will I be seeing you in the Spring, NurseInTraining?
How exciting! I wouldve done the same thing I am going in with 83 pts bc unfortunately my speech class didn't get accepted so I'm taking that as we speak and also didn't get the 5 bonus pts on the TEAS like Id hoped to attain 88 pts like you :) Missed it by a hair with a 74% :/ but managed to gain a couple back with work verification letters. I have not recieved anything yet, and like you, am shocked at how early they sent out letters this semester, lol...but im glad to see things seemed to be organized in that sense. I'm waiting on PCC, GCC, and County's response. I was accepted at Rio Hondo and unfortunately denied them last week bc although Id be taking a pre ADN course, their official program doesn't begin until Fall 2012 and I was hoping to enter something "officially" by Jan. I hope I made the right decision and everything works out- We shall see! I'll keep you posted, Lingaping =)
