Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?

hello all - i had an appointment today and well not good news, but not entirely bad. My case is different from all of yours because, almost ten years ago, i failed out. So now i have to plead my case as to why i failed out, and what has changed. basically - verbally/emotionally abusive boyfriend.. and now - lovely completely supportive husband. i love him so much... so i have to wait for the dean i think to review my letter and hopefully i'll be re-accepted for fall semester... yay!! or else i have to get my lvn license first - and do the bridge. so not good news, but i still have hope. i'm going to two schools tomorrow mornign that have LVN programs... continue to wish me luck.

btw - she told me my official points - 78!!! what?!? oh well...

78 isn't that bad. I'm sure if you tell her (convince her) that your a changed person who has the drive needed to complete the program, you'll get in. Keep your option open just in case. Always a good idea. I wish you luck in your future.

Mugalex - So bummed to hear that you won't be with us this semester, but very glad that they are re-reviewing you for the fall. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!! Good luck!

Xairamx - which clinical site will you be at? USC or Olive View? I'm at OV. I've met 1/2 of those at OV as of this week. Congrats & welcome!! Looking forward to meeting you. Most everyone I've talked to has never heard of this board or has only come across it casually. Hope to meet you in person next week! I have all of my books and spent all of today getting my health clearance and ID for class - tomorrow is my ID at OV. Yeesh! All of the paperwork and extra stuff that I hadn't expected! :-) But it's worth it in the end. Good luck!

Andrew - thank you for being so supportive! It's great to see such kind people on a board where the cynics seem to come out in droves. :-)

Andrew26: This thread is from awhile back, I applied to PCC & County in spring 09 to start in fall. PCC took about 10-12 weeks to send out acceptance letters, County took even longer. Love County though!

hello may you please tell me what study materials you used for pre-entrance exam

:uhoh3:I'm nervous. I dont know what to do. What material do you guys use to pass pre-entrance exam?

I didn't use anything but several of my classmates said that they used the CAHSEE books for review--I believe they are the California exit exam books. Good luck!

So after reading a few of these posts im officially nervous about this program but im going to follow through and get it done. Im still in my prerequisites but i have faith in myself. Im glad i googled "is the L.A county nursing program hard" seeing real posts from people who've been there done that is pretty inspiring lol.

This program is a very very good program. I know someone who is in it and although it is time consuming (as any ADN program is) it's a good program. I can tell you that you will want to do very well on the entrance exam the first time around because they go by a point system and the more times you re-take the entrance exam, the less points you will get. Also, if you have any d's or f's on your transcripts you might want to see about re-taking those classes as well. Being that they are a "private" school, they can use it against you even if it is not a class that they require for entrance into their program. GL to you all!

do you guys know if you can go on with your bachelors degree after you graduate from this school? is this school transferable to state colleges?

Yes, several of those that have graduated are currently in programmes for their bachelors as well as a couple for their masters...several of the teachers there are graduates from the school & they also have their bachelors, masters, ccrn, phn & np...
