The skills kit have everything that you will need for clinical skills throughout the program and it comes with a BP cuff and light pen as well. You just need a stethoscope( I used Littman Classic it does not matter what brand) and a watch to be honest it doesn’t really matter what watch you use I have the Casio basic one in black with 2hands because you will have to sanitize it over and over again. I also bought the folding clipboard but you don’t have to some of my classmates bought the small clipboard. Don’t worry ?the school will tell you everything during orientation week Enjoy your Summer break and get ALOT of sleep. You’ll be paired with a mentor soon I think 3rd week.

? one last question, do you have to have the electronic account for the textbooks? I have textbooks from a former student but I wasn’t sure if they’d be valid. Also, would you recommend a laptop or iPad for school?

You need the electronic account for homework like practicing with a virtual patient and answering questions till you reach the assign level and it can only be done with the electronic account. I use a MacBook Air for both lecture and clinical worksheet some of my classmates used iPad with Apple pen and others used Microsoft surface, hp, Samsung and etc. Some of my classmates also print lectures. It really depends on how you think you will learn.

Can any current student let me know is the program four 16 week semesters like regular community college? Do you get breaks in between? Summers and winters off?

Yes it’s the same as the community college

Just a few more questions for current students, I’m applying for fall 2021. Are your books e-books? Do they try and place you in a hospital by your address? (I went to the info session, the lady said they try, I’m wondering if it’s true) I know you guys are online for class right now. Are you on camera, is it live class? Thanks in advance. Stay safe.

Hi,

Yes we are using e-books but you can always purchase the hard copy or borrow from the library. The school place you depends on your zip code and for first semester they only use two locations the main hospital and rancho. For online class before we used Skype with no camera but afterwards the school started to just record the lectures and you just download it and do it in your own time. Feel free to ask questions I am glad to be able to help other students :)Goodluck on your application for Spring?

Do you remember what your orientation was like? I’ll be starting in the fall and have no idea what to expect. Any word of whether things will be online this fall? Thank you!

Are you guys doing it in person or online? The school is pretty organized with the orientation and will give you guys a schedule for the week and for the whole sem. I met my friends during orientation which is fun so we stick together the whole week until now LOL. Basically in the orientation the school will explain policies, give you the skills bag and uniform, register for enrollment, pay for your tuition fee, meet your clinical group, and meet your instructors. I remember we also went to the hospital to tour the facilities. It’s gonna be a busy and exciting week! Enjoy ?

Here’s a strange question but does sock color matter? Some programs want you to wear white socks only. What program do you use in place of ATI?
