Did anyone else submit an application for Fall 2020? I wanted to get a thread going for those of us who have applied.

I believe around 50-60 students get admitted per semester. For the Fall 2020 admits, the cutoff score is 83 points. The 83 points is without the interview as it was cancelled due to Covid.

awesome! thank you! did you get accepted for fall 2020?

our class Spring 2020 have 53 or 54 when we started the semester

How was the first semester? Any tips for incoming students? Do you know if fall will be online?

IDK if fall will be online sorry :( Half of our first semester was online lectures but you still take the exams in campus and clinical in the hospital. First semester was a bit challenging because your adjusting to many things. It is true that there would be a lot of sleepless nights especially when you start clinical because besides studying with your exams you still have to do your clinical worksheet. I suggest reading the required readings for each lecture because it really helps for the exams. Get high scores in your exams because that’s the only thing they grade you with for theory classes and learn how to take NCLEX style questions. In clinical you’ll learn in the long run don’t be shy to ask for help and I suggest making a check list for all the things your instructor expect you to do so you don’t have to go back at the end when checking out. Overall, it was a great experience :) the school have tutor to help you both for studying and practicing your skills and I also had a mentor that gave me some resources and was there to help me throughout first semester.

Do you know what the skills kit consists of? And if we really need a BP cuff? Are we allowed to have Apple watches in school/clinicals? I’m so nervous about starting, I wish I could be paired up with a mentor right now ??

CONGRATS on getting accepted in the fall! My aunt went to this school and said the experience she got from the hospital, and she ended up getting a job at Kaiser and they paid for her BSN schooling.

What were your total points for the fall admission?

The skills kit have everything that you will need for clinical skills throughout the program and it comes with a BP cuff and light pen as well. You just need a stethoscope( I used Littman Classic it does not matter what brand) and a watch to be honest it doesn’t really matter what watch you use I have the Casio basic one in black with 2hands because you will have to sanitize it over and over again. I also bought the folding clipboard but you don’t have to some of my classmates bought the small clipboard. Don’t worry ?the school will tell you everything during orientation week Enjoy your Summer break and get ALOT of sleep. You’ll be paired with a mentor soon I think 3rd week.
