Los Angeles Area Nursing Schools

U.S.A. California

Hi All,

I'm originally from LA, but I moved to florida a few years back. Well do to circumstances I'm having to move back. I've completed my two years of prereqs for nursing out here and just got my acceptance letter today. :(

I'm checking out schools out there but it seems like everyone has a waiting list. I have a 3.14 gpa, and all science class prereqs done and most electives (depends on the school). Does anyone know which schools I'd have the most of a shot of getting into without having to wait 2 years? Or does just every school in LA have a massive waiting list?

Thanks in advance. :)

As far as I know the BSN programs do not have a waiting list...If you don't get in you have to re-apply for the next semester. The BSN program I will be starting in Jan. does not do waiting lists. I would apply to all of the programs that sound interesting and then decide from there if it will work for you. I was accepted at MSMC for this semester that is ending, for the BSN program, but I decided to wait to see if I got into another program (I know it was extremely risky to gamble a position away), which I did. I could not swing the tuition at MSMC plus daycare expenses. Also I was never on a waiting list for MSMC either.

Good Luck in your decision and decide what is best for you!

The BSN program Im attending also does not have a waitlist. Its either you get in or reapply.

The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing program is now available in Glendale as a 14 month 2nd degree ABSN or a 9 month RN to BSN. All prereqs have to be completed prior to applying and there is no wait list, just like above, if you don't get in you reapply with the next round of students. More info: http://www.ounursing.com/
