Looking to start Excelsior soon! Prereq question??

Nursing Students Excelsior

Hey, all! So, I am thinking of starting EC in the very near future. My question is will they take most if not all of my former college credits from my BA in Psychology? I mean, am I REALLY gonna hve to take Developmental Psych AGAIN?? I hope not. I know I need to take Microbio, but I already took Anatomy & Phys I & II WITH labs at my LPN school. Will they make me take them OVER? Any tips you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome! The first thing to do, pronto, is APPLY! You will need official copies of your transcripts. Likely they will accept your Dev Psych, A & P 1 & 2... but keep in mind, that if you do not ENROLL before Oct 1, your A & P must be less than 5 years old.

In the meantime, here is a link from Excelsior's website. Go to it, and click on the degree chart. You can figure out which of your pre reqs will likely be accepted, and what else you might need.

Good luck!

I am in the process of doing the same thing. As far as I know, yes they will take your A&P and your Developmental Psych. Atlease that is what the rep told me when I signed up. I've already been accepted tentatively, pending my transcript verification. Also, this is the best time to enroll. As of 10/1/2012, your sciences will have a 5 year resency requirement like every other school. So if you sign up before 9/30/2012, you should be okay. Good luck!

Thanks for the info!! Wish me luck. Good luck to you also, AngLVN!
