California requires applicants for RN licensure to have a US Social Security Number so that can make this option difficult for someone who has not been issued an SSN in the US. The job outlook for new grad RN's are pretty bleak right now especially in the desirable areas of the state but you may find outlying areas away from the coast and close to borders still hiring. I am not Canadian though I do work with a few Canadian nurses here in the Bay Area but they have been working in the US for a while.

Hello,
I am a newly graduated male RN (BScN) specializing in Critical Care and Psych looking to relocate to California from Ontario. I was wondering if anyone could please help me make my transition to California easier :) If you could please provide me information on obtaining liscences, good locations to practice, or even specific hospitals to check out ? Thanks so much! Also I had some quick questions ... Should I apply directly to the hospital or should I apply to a travel nursing agency?
Are there any California nurses originally from Ontario that can help me ? Thanks
