I'm in a similar predicament. Several weeks ago (early August) I applied for a FT nights position at the local (and AWESOME) children's hospital. My thought was that I could work FT through Dec and then go PRN (or possibly 1-2 nights a week) when I start nursing school in January. I'll have class every day but figured I could possibly work 7p-7a and then go to class 8-10:30 (on non-clinical days) as long as I didn't have a test. (FYI: my school is on the campus of the hospital so it's only a walk across the parking lot.) I finally got a call for an interview (HOORAY!) but it's not for 2 more weeks (late Sept), which means even if I do get the position, I probably wouldn't start until mid-late Oct, which would only give me 2 months of FT availability. Now I'm wondering how to handle the interview. They know I'm starting nursing school in January. I almost feel like I'm wasting their time by interviewing for the position.
FYI: I just emailed the recruiter, stated my concern, and asked if I should continue with the interview or not. We'll see what she says!
Update: I heard back from the recruiter and she was pleased and impressed that I brought the issue up BEFORE the interview. She spoke with the hiring manager and he asked if I would interview for a PRN position on the same unit. I AM THRILLED!

I'm a nursing student and I am trying to apply for part time or per diem CNA or PCA job openings in hospitals near by me. However many of the the job listings are only full time positions but I love the hospitals where they are located. Should I apply for these full time positions even though I am only looking for a part time/ per diem job?
