Hi guys and gals. I am a new LPN, just passed my boards (first try) in October. My fiancee and I are looking to move out of Western NY. I am curious as to where we should head? The only thing we have to have is a place either of our own or close by to have our horses at the hous. I have no other prefrences other than just looking to make about the same amount of money I am here (16-18/hour). If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you!

Well, there are about 49 other states to choose from so good luck. The suburban Chicago are might be a place to consider. I know some LPNs making more than you mentioned and the cost of living is pretty reasonable. I'm no equestrian, but I believe there are stables in the west, northwest, south, southwest suburbs, but yet the city of Chicago is nearby, too with ample nightlife and other things to do. Just a thought. Good luck.

Gwinnet County, 45 minutes North of Atlanta. Nice people, country living, the area has just been developed. And most hospitals and clinics have attractive sign on bonuses. And the Mall of Georgia is another plus in the area. Most homes in this area have stables, that is how big the land is in the area. Gwinnet county holds city like Dacula, Auburn, etc., Check it out on line.

Personally I like any where warm.

stick with it, it gets tough, but it all pays off in the end. If you have a nclex book, study from that for your tests. It helps out soo much. And study a little everyday I know life gets in the way but try to read a little bit each night, then it sinks in better. Good luck !

Research Texas. I found it to be very friendy to LVN's. I still have a friend down there that easily out earns me (I live in St. Louis).
