Familynurse Practioner Or Nursing Informatics
We had this talk this summer while my sister was visiting us in St. Louis. She was stunned when she found out how much my wife makes. My wife is an OR information systems RN BSN with 20 years of experience. We moved here from New York 11 years ago. My wife doubled her salary. So I guess it depends on where you live. My sister, in Rochester NY, makes less than 80K works weekends, nights and supervises other FNP's. She must work if the other FNP's cancel. She has been a FNP for about 10 years and an RN for 10 years before that. I am know some APN's make much more than a FNP. It is this way with physicians, a specialist will make more than a generalist. I know a nurse anthesis that makes over 140k. It is a very hard program. You have a lot at risk in this job but the pay is great. I think it would qualify as a Bankers job.

Familynurse Practioner Or Nursing Informatics
Nursing Informatics is a hot hot hot upcoming field! My wife has just started on her masters. She is a RN, BSN working in the information systems dept at a major Hospital in St. Louis. M-F 7-3 no weekends, no call.... My sister is an APN. She talked my wife out of going down that path. Scut work... always on call for the MD's. No life. Money is not much better. My RN wife out earns my sister, who practices in New York, and works less hours. Your experiance might be different.

Co Worker and snide comments
disruptive behavior/lateral violence is "defined as any inappropriate behavior, confrontation, or conflict - ranging from verbal abuse to physical and sexual harassment. the international council of nurses (icn) defines abuse as "behavior that humiliates, degrades, or otherwise indicates a lack of respect for the dignity and worth of an individual" (icn, 2004). often the underlying cause of lateral violence revolves around communication mishaps" (ratner, 10) or intentional abusive behaviors. http://www.nursingworld.org/mods/mod440/lateralfull.htm read this thread https://allnurses.com/forums/f8/lateral-violence-how-nurses-treat-nurses-232873.html or just google lateral violence
