Texas Nursing Laws/Policy
Thanks everyone for your responses! I do know nurses on my unit that have made worse errors and have not been reported AT ALL! I reported my own error though, i filled out the pmeninic (sp) on myself. I could not see lying about it, i did it and i owned up to it my mistake and that is one thing that is helping me to keep my head held high. I have searched policy's at my hospital and found nothing. Other nurses that are supporting me (pretty much the whole night shift on my unit) are trying to search for the policy too. They have even sent letters to managemnt saying how unfair they are being and how things are being handled very unprofessionaly (thats another topic !!) So thanks to everyone again!

LPN verse RN question
I have been an LPN for almost a year now and i work on a surg/trauma unit at a childrens hospital! i love my job its just very stressful, so yes you can work with kids as an LPN. i would say if you have the money/chance go for your RN. i am trying to go back to school now and its hard, i am burnt out. i dont regret getting my LPN but there are certain things that you will not be able to do and the charge nurse will have to do for you and it gets really old. i just want to not have to count on someone to sign off my orders and stuff! but i will say from talking with other nurses i think as an LPN you get a little more hands on and skills! good luck to you!

Texas Nursing Laws/Policy
I was wondering if anyone knows the Tx Board of Nursing Rules Regarding reporting medication errors? I recently made a med error and it has to go t/the peer review board at the hospital that I work at (per policy). This error happened at the beginning of March and its now May and so far I am still waiting around basically. This will go to the Peer Review and then they will decide whether or not to report it to the BNE. So does anyone know if they have a certain amount of time that they have to report this? I have looked on the BNE but was unable to find any info. Any info will help! Thanks :sstrs:

-
Army PT Test
oh really! i am trying to get into OBC and my unit said that one requirement is 70% on PT so maybe it is just for gettin accepted?? dont know!
-
Army PT Test
officer are expected to be in better shape, they set an example for the enlisted soldiers, so therefore they must achieve 70% while the enlisted are only required to do 60%! get use to random things like that if you do join! i love the guard but sometimes it really confuses the hell out of me!!

Army PT Test
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/army/l/blfitmal37to41.htm here is the link! if you are wanting to go officer you must get 70% in each area, if not officer then 60%!! it can be tricky to read at first but just look for 70% and next to that! good luck!
