Looking for LPN school in Colorado

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

I am looking for a LPN program in Colorado. I heard Emily Griffith has a great program but I want to later move into RN program. I also checked in Regis What do you think?

Specializes in cardiac.

Hey does anyone have any insight on the RN to BSN programs at Northern Colorado University or University of Colorado at Denver. I'm wondering how these programs work and if it is possible to work full time while doing these classes. Any insight would be amazing.

Thanks in advance!

csulb_student,

I was wondering what the book situation is like in class. Do we need to buy the latest editions of the books or is it more of a on your own study out of the book and class is more lecture. Do you think I could get away with having older editions of the books in most classes?

Thanks Nick

Ksoon2beinCO - there is a new thread I responded to about the program... sorry don't have the link, but you can search Pueblo 2010 and find it. Also, there are quite a few people from Springs in our class and they carpool. They were able to get some of their clinicals up in Springs too.

mkggirl - be careful in looking at Arapahoe though if you have a dog restriction, some parts have a ban on 11 breeds! :( Jefferson County is just to the west of Denver and has no breed restriction. I live in Lakewood (the city just to the west of Denver) and it takes me about 10-15 minutes at most to drive to DSN. I start in January, good luck!!!

I was looking for tuition information but DSON hasn't updated their website since last March. Does anyone have tuition info?

I don't remember the exact number, but they didn't increase as much as they thought. It's $43k about, maybe $43,500, somewhere around there. That's for the BSN btw, I don't know how much the ADN is, but I would guess only $1k or $2k more than what's posted like the BSN. :)

Thank you RNtwoBe I will look into those areas first. Are you currently attending DSN? If so how far into te program are you?

Hi there! Nope, I start in January, so excited!!! A friend of mine started in January of this year and she loves it! She's gotten great feedback from her clinicals about the caliber of DSN student, and they get students from all over, including CU and Regis! :) Where are you moving from? What are you looking for?

Hello,

I am moving from Aspen. I am looking for a townhome through a private owner, since those are the only types of places to take my pet. I am really unfamilar with the Denver area. I moved from Pittsburgh about a year ago. My search is not going well.

I missed the application deadline for UC Denver (UGH!) and i'm wondering what are some good schools to apply to instead? I'm moving to the Denver area so I would like to attend school nearby. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!!!

You'd be surprised, the Denver area is a pretty dog friendly place. A co-worker of mine lived in an apartment complex with her two pit bulls! Have you tried Craigslist? That will probably be your best bet to find homeowners renting places. Some people around here are still old school and just post a sign in the neighborhood though too. Seems weird to me in this day and age, but maybe if you make a trip to see a couple of places, you might try driving around as well. What's your budget?

Are you looking solely for BSN programs? Do you already have another BSN and are able to apply to accelerated programs? The deadlines for Metro State, Regis, and CU have passed (for the summer 2010 start dates), they were between September and November this year. DSN has multiple start dates a year but I am unfamiliar with their deadlines since they are not regionally accredited and therefore not an option for me. Just google the schools and look up their deadlines.
