Yes we will be a family!!! Are you excited or nervous? I'm a little of both!! I'm hoping that orientation will ease all of my worries, but then again I'll pry be on my toes until I graduate!!! I feel like I have been waiting forever for this day to come. I can't believe I actually have a "graduation" date!! Do you know what field you want to go in to? I'm not sure yet, I know that I want to go in to a challenging field that will test my knowledge, but only time will tell!
I'm glad you found us on here!! Looking forward to our journey ahead!
i'am a little of both as well! I am already in the feild and I talk to nursing students from all sorts of school's all the time, I seriously have not heard one bad thing at all about the school and it's program! I definatly want to do ICU, leaning more towards trauma ICU. You will have plenty of clinical time to figure out what you want specilaty you want to do! I just cant wait to be done finally!!!:wink2:
I hear ya on finally being done! Its funny because I feel like I have been going to school forever, but yet I feel like a kid on her first day of kindergarten!
Thats funny, seems like a lot of the nursing students I meet want to go into ICU. I think there are only certain areas we can go into as nursing students correct? Right now, I really want to go into Pediactrics Oncology, but not sure if that will be an option for me as a new grad.

Funny you say that, there are only about 5 in my class who want ICU...the rest are kind of mixed (peds, ER, tele), with some who aren't sure yet. Me? I'm ICU all the way!!!! Some ICU's will hire new grads, especially if you decide to extern on a unit. The ICU where I am externing just hired a new grad in June...probably others as well. Estrella Mountain is a nice school, you'll like it!

:caduceus::spam::shbdy: :anpom::lghmky::hlk:
Some hospital's will let you start off on wich ever floor you would like and some others do have restrictions. That is the beauty of clinicals, you can figure out your calling. Most of people i had pre req's with wanted to do l&d and peds. I know what you mean.... I do feel like i'am starting kindergarden again! It's a journy i've been working on forever, andd cant wait, 2 weeks and 6 days away, whos counting?

I thought EMCC doesn't offer block one only blocks three and four correct? You have to be an LPN already right? Cause I took all my prerequisites at EMCC and I love it there and would love to complete my nursing degree there as well but, from the last I heard their only offering blocks three and four unless your talking about the south west skill center.
Your information is out of date by about a year; EMCC started doing all 4 blocks last october.
Really! cause I just looked up the information on EMCC's website and this is what I found http://www.estrellamountain.edu/nursing/ unless they haven't updated their information. I mean if your in block 1 at EMCC then you must obviously be right. I'll confirm this thanks for the info!
