Hi nurses!!
I have heard that FL is in need of nurses.. Is this true? I'm from Ohio but I am looking in the Tampa area but there isn't too much information about the jobs.. Looking for some input.. do they hire new grads? How much do they start out paying? etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Well, if I were you, I would recheck your information over at the FLORIDA nurses forum.
FL is not in dire need of nurses right now, in fact, many new grads are complaining that they cannot get interviews - much less JOBS. That being said....many in my graduating class have obtained employment.
I have posted something in the FLORIDA forum and no one has responded
I don't think any place is in DIRE need of nurses but there may be more positions available than there are where I live. EVERYONE where I live goes to become a nurse because there's nothing else as far as jobs go.

I have some friends that just graduated with their associates in nursing and just got jobs. They worked as ACP's though, so that may have helped them get their foot in the door over another graduate that didn't have any experience. We live in Jacksonville, where there are a lot of hospitals in one area.
Maybe check out traveling nursing? Good luck to you!
