how long is your commute?

Just wondering how long everyone's commute to work is.

My current clinical site is about 35 minutes from my house, but I'm applying at a hospital right now that is less than 1/2 mile from my house. I can walk there in less than 15 minutes, and they start new grads at a higher pay rate than the hospitals that are further away from me. Wish me luck! :D

#1 full time job at hospital 30 to 45 mins depending on traffic and time of day.

#2 per-diem job in Sub-acute 12 to 15 mins depending on traffic.

Awesome!!!

22 Days till final finals.

Actually, it gets even better. Since I work hospice/home health, and live in a crowded city, it is pretty much required that we use our bikes to go from client to client. I average 90 minutes bike time per shift, which sure helps keep me in shape.

Also, my company has a "bicycle plan", which gives us a good bike at a cheap monthly payment, including insurance on it.

I haven't driven a car in several years, and don't miss it at all--that post about spending $400 a month on gas to get to work really shocked me!!!

Good luck on your finals.

Job #1 is 50 minutes to 1 hr 15 minutes depending on traffic

Job #2 (prn) is 8 minutes

Used to be full time at Job #2 but I decided I'd rather hate the 2 hours on the road and love the 12 at work than like the 16 minutes on the road and hate the 12 hours at work.

takes 5 minutes to walk to work right now. I am less than a block from the Nursing home where I work.

When I go to the hospital starting in June it will be 40 mins/26 miles. If I take the job in Baltimore, it will be about a 3 hour drive one way.

Not sure.. lots of options.

About 30 minutes.

Specializes in NICU, Infection Control.

Before I retired, 20 miles, 45-60 min in am commute, ~30 min @ night (7pm).

Now, 10 miles, I don't hit commuter traffic (unless an accident has it really backed up, then I can easily take surface streets), I'm there in 20 min, max. Hallelujah!

15 minutes from the time I leave my driveway until I clock in.

I used to drive 2 1/2 hours each way

I beat you ALL!!! Took me over 2 1/2 hours to get to work the other day. People in California can't drive in the rain... It usually takes 1-2 hours.

Hahahahahahaha This is soooo true! :chuckle: Every time it rains it makes the news. Before I moved down here the rain didn't really bother me but now I'm scared to drive in it! :lol2: I don't even want DH to drive in it. Honey don't go out. Can't you see that it's raining?!? LOL
