Long Beach, CA LVNS HELP ME OUT (southbay)

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hello,

Im graduating from my LVN program next month and preping for my NCLEX.. i live in long beach and I was wondering if anyone in Long Beach or any adjacent cities close by can give me the starting pay rates for new grads at there facility. You dont have to tell me the name of the facility. Please just give me the rate and specify if it is a LTC, SNIF or Hospital..

Please help... Everyone tells me to apply in Orange County to make the most, but i want to stay close to home..

Thanks so much for all of you who reply..

Honestly in your area your lucky as a new grad LVN if you can get a job in private duty and they will most likely be paying you $15-16

The good news is after a year you can move to another job for about $3-4 more

Im not really interested in private duty as a new grad I would rather work in a hospital, SNIF or LTC. I'm working on my RN pre-reqs already so that i can move on to a LVN-RN bridge program i just wanted to know what the LVN new grad rates are in the Long Beach area....

OK let me be very clear. You are unlikely to get a job in a SNF or LTC when you graduate as a new grad in the long beach area. You definately wont be able to get into a hospital

I graduated with a 4.0 a couple of years ago and the LTC's weren't hiring they still aren't. Many of my classmates from '09 don't have jobs so your probably going to have to take what you can get. Even nurses with 10+ years of experience are having this problem. Your dream job is not available

Well tothepoint lvn.. i happen to know a few people who are working in long beach as new grads making 23-25 and hour at a few LTC and SNIFs.. and those arent my dream jobs. Anaheim which is close to long beach is starting new grads off in SNIFs at 25 for the day and 26 for night shift and i know that cause my good friend is the Director of Nursing there.. so please dont try and tell me my only option is a private duty nurse for 17 bucks and hour..

Why didn't you post your salary info in the first post? Where are these places that pay so well? There are many nurses in the area who would benefit from your assistance.

Also I do have to ask you post that you are graduating next month but in a previous post in Dec last year you stated you were already a new grad ( same question BTW ).

I've given you the honest information relating to your situation.

I'm sorry if it doesn't fit into your schema.

p.s I said $16hr You'd be lucky if they offer you $17

Caliotter: I will not mention the SNIF's that offer the competative pay, just as others will not post where they work when they list there salaries...

Well, tothepointLVN seem like you have a lot of time on your hands to chat and research others post which is why you probably started off at $16/hr.. lol.. That is the case for the rural areas of southern california but not in the city area. And for your information the post in december was by a friend of mine who was at my house and wanted to make a post for her knowledge..

The info could be provided in private messages.

Caliotter would you like to send me a private message and I can inform you in a private message of the places i know that hire new grads at the payrates i stated.

I don't need the info. Thought maybe you hadn't thought of that. I've passed on info about jobs in PMs lots of times. Thanks for offering.

Awesome.. I see you two are buddies!!!
