Long Beach, CA LVNS HELP ME OUT (southbay)

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hello,

Im graduating from my LVN program next month and preping for my NCLEX.. i live in long beach and I was wondering if anyone in Long Beach or any adjacent cities close by can give me the starting pay rates for new grads at there facility. You dont have to tell me the name of the facility. Please just give me the rate and specify if it is a LTC, SNIF or Hospital..

Please help... Everyone tells me to apply in Orange County to make the most, but i want to stay close to home..

Thanks so much for all of you who reply..

Well, tothepointLVN seem like you have a lot of time on your hands to chat and research others post which is why you probably started off at $16/hr.. lol.. That is the case for the rural areas of southern california but not in the city area. And for your information the post in december was by a friend of mine who was at my house and wanted to make a post for her knowledge..

I'm medical leave from having been in a coma in January so YES I DO have a lot of time on my hands however a search of someone else's previous posts takes about 15 seconds and won't have taken you much longer than that to search allnurses.com for salary information but you posted over and over and over asking for the same info and when several people not just me on this thread gave you the same info I gave you disputed them

I have read other post regarding salaries and I was trying to locate one that was pertaining more to long beach area.. which by the way isnt just for me but others who live in the long beach area.

It is proven statistically that most new grad jobs are in LTC and SNIF. :)

You posted a request for information I posted the current facts about nursing graduates from LVN's schools. Most new grad positions unlike 2-3 years ago are NOT in LTC/SNF. I live in the Long Beach area so I know what the going rates are. You chose to dismiss anything I had to say because it was not what you wanted to hear.

I will use my graduating class of June 09 as an example and the statistics got progressively worse for classes graduating afterwards. 50% as of March 10 have NOT found employment in nursing at all. 3 started out working part time in SNF's. The rest started out in private duty or hospice or home health visits. A couple work in Adult Day Cares and one works in corrections.

The first year really does suck. After that it gets better. My graduating class is divided into two camps those with jobs and those holding out for their dream jobs but are not working as nurses. The economy is bad. When I started in 08 we all fully expected to walk into a SNF and walk out with a job thats not happing right now.

What I am tired of is posters asking questions and then attacking those who provide them with real honest answers. If you already knew the answer to the question why ask it. Was it just to waste someone else's time?
