2015 Lonestar spring hopefuls.

Published

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Yes, cyfair as my number 1 choice.

OMG...I hope is next wk and not more than that:nailbiting:... I believe is just a few of us that applied to cy-fair as primary.. for me is my only option... I applied with an 11.38... I'm really nervous, but trying to stay positive.. I really hope we all get in...

Cy-fair is my only choice also. Fingers crossed we all get in! That would be so great.

I'm trying to think positively. There have been students with lower scores in the past get in so I'm hoping I can pull it off.

Good luck to all of you! I'm in my last semester of the LVN program at Tomball. Exactly a year ago yesterday I got my acceptance e-mail. So hopefully y'all will get yours soon. Also, if you get on the alternative list, don't be discouraged! Get everything ready anyway and go to orientation! There were 4 or 5 people at orientation that got put off the alternate list and accepted into the program!

So I've seen this a few times in the thread now and am curious.. What is the BON Blue Card?

Specializes in Forensic Psych.

Lone star has you do your background check for the board of nursing before you get in. That way you don't go all the way through the program and find out you can't get your license or have to complete all kinds of stipulations first. The blue card is what they send you to tell you you're cleared.

Ohh okay! That makes sense, I guess that must be what the ferpa was for. Thanks!

I just received an email yesterday that I was accepted to the LVN Program at Tomball which is great but I am still hoping for an acceptance at UT Houston or Lonestar College with UT as my first choice.

What was your score for the LVN, and ADN program, cwhitfield? If you don't mind sharing.

11.36.... English is not my first Language and the Grammar part on the HESI brought my score down.

I spoke to a nurse yesterday who works at the Methodist Hospital and she told me that I may have a REALLY hard time finding a job with just an ADN bc most hospitals only want BSN. That really discouraged me... :( Although I am planning on continuing my education and eventually get my BSN I was hoping to be working while I finished. She wasn't trying to be mean, rather informative of what's going on at her hospital right now. Anyone else worried sick about just getting an ADN and not finding a job?
