Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54
Yes I want some descend looking ones but the ones that I find are ugly lol. I really like the dansko shoes but they are pretty expensive for me right now. Well maybe we have to borrow some shoes from your sister lol.Anybody found shoes?? Haven't been able to find some![/quoteWhere have you been looking? I have not gotten mine yet, I was gonna check out Famous Footwear first. I was hoping to get some type of nike mid top athletic shoe type....if that makes sense
I've been lurking for months. Finally joined. I'll be in the morning schedule at Cy-Fair.
I absolutely agree with Warren--this has been a headache-inducing, dramatic journey, and we're not even at Day 1.
My brand new big headache is that I apparently did not get an e-mail from the Cy-Fair department that includes a list of required supplies and our first reading assignment. I e-mailed them last night saying I did not have it, and the only reply I've had is that I "should have received it". Well, I didn't, so that's not helpful. Still haven't, in fact. Could someone in the Cy-Fair program please message me the content of that e-mail? I would really like to know what I have to buy, and what is optional, because I don't exactly have excess cash lying around.

PM me your email, and I can forward you the email that has the power point from orientation. That is all that I received with any kind of list. It has on one of the slides, the reading that is due before Monday.
I too am in the morning classes
Warren, you can go to Text Express on Barker Cypress and get your books. They will take a post dated check or hold your debit/credit card info until a later date so that you can get your books now. The prices are great too. I got all new with a couple of used that still had the CDs and access codes.
This whole experience has been one helluva roller coaster. Cy-Fair registered us for class on the 2nd money was due on the 4th and I was dropped from classes on the 5th because they mistakenly awarded me financial aid. How does that happen? I'm in the same boat as a lot you I need the aid. So at this point everything is out of pocket books and all. These these little surprises are not welcomed at all. Sorry for the rant just had to vent.
You know what I do not blame you at all. Financial aid is freakin crazy sometimes. I wonder if all colleges are like that or just Lone Star. Last semester I had anticipated grant and loan money, so the last few days of enrollment I enrolled my courses. The day after payment was due my classes were dropped for non payment and noticed my aid was gone. I had financial aid though the whole time. The thing is if you financial aid than you must enroll asap and not wait because they will take it away from you even if enrollment is not over yet. The fa advisor told me to enroll in classes asap whenever you have aid. It's crazy
How do they mistakenly give you aid...I think it's messed up how they drop classes like that for non payment...It really creates heartache...

Wow that is awesome!! You think they have the books for Kingwood? If my book advance money does not come in tomorrow into my bank account than I will want to go there

What's an advisor report? They said to have them sign some paper and turn in a degree plan.My first request was appealed within 3 days, they needed the advisors report and I sent the wrong one in. Since I did not get it in by the 4th, they dropped all my nursing classes and took away my pell grant. But they issued my book advance????? all a little messed up. Now I have submitted the correct paperwork and am waiting. So not sure if approved or not....
