Lonestar nursing applicants for spring 2016

Hi guys! I will be applying for lonestar cyfair and a few others in the spring of 2016. I was wondering if anyone had started studying for the hesi and also what grades have they gotten so far in their classes!

I saw that too, but I cant remember where. When I went ot he info session in June at Kingwood, someone posed the question to the director. She said that is why they have added the critical thinking portion to the HESI test. Though, she said, at this time it does not figure into your score for admission. Also, my APII teacher mentioned they had accepted some students who did not know how to think critically.

The information about Lonestar or any other nursing program in Texas can be found in the Texas BON (Board of Nursing) website. If you go under the "Students" tab, you will see several links. A good one to look at is the NCLEX passing rates for all school for the past 5yrs, and another good one is the list of accredited programs (where it says Kingwood is on probation). The reason that the program is on probation is because their NCLEX passing rate was under 80% for 2 consecutive years. Hopefully Cyfair students do well this year so that the Cyfair program doesn't follow the same path.

Hello, I'm applying for the Kingwood Spring 2016 program, currently getting my stuff together as we speak. I have a 3.428 in the top portion of the score sheet and a 3.632 in the bottom from my HESI. I'm not very confident about my score, but hoping for the best. Also, we don't submit anything online, correct? The application is solely a hard copy, because the application did not give me an option to submit anything, just print the score sheet and the application main page. Thanks & good luck everyone!

Hi, there everyone!!! I have been reading the forum tonight and decided to sign in and chat. I applied to the Kingwood Location in July to start in Jan, so Ive been patiently waiting for Sept. 4th to come(not lol)! I spoke with the director at Kingwood and found out they get over 300 applicant, which is not bad if you think of it as 1 out of every 5 people. I also asked what the cut off score would be and I was told that there was not a cut off since it was their first time using the total of 8 points system. I was a nervous wreck before the Hesi , but I passed it on the first try with a 88%. I atudied for atleast a month with the elsevier book. The math portion was ALL fractions and conversions. I have an A in eng and a B in ap1. Right now im taking pharmacology and retaking ap2 to see if I can make the A. My score is a 6.8. I wish everybody luck with getting accepted!
