Hi everyone! Has anyone applied for the fall yet? I'm studying for my HESI and will be applying soon!
When I applied for Blinn last semester (for spring) I was put on the alternate list. I was under the impression that I would get a background check after acceptance- so when they called to offer me the spot and I didn't already have it done, they passed me up. I did get a blue card anyway though, and I got it in the mail in January of this year. Do you think I could use the same blue card for lone star or will I have to get a new one?
Also- just a PSA- if you are ever placed on an alternate list immediately get your background check done! Totally sucked to get passed up over that.
This is taking a ridiculously long time. I was an alternate last semester and wanted to share what I learned. This applies to the basic trackfor the RN program. If you have something in your background do your DO NOW otherwise wait until you are accepted and you will get instructions to get your fingerprints taken and get a blue card. You will need to be cpr certified. It has to be BLS through American red cross. They will not accept any other type. If you do not have all of your shots then get started on it. Last semester they made everyone turn in titer results for Hep B, Varicella, and MMR not just shot records. If you haven't had all three Hep B shots start that now. It takes 6 months. Good luck everyone hope we hear soon!!
If you check the past application seasons on this site most of them get e-mail notifications within 3 weeks. I have not seen one that took 1 month but I would not be surprised if that's what they tell everyone so that there isn't 1000 students calling if something comes up and they have to go past the 3 week deadline.

Teri123... I am licensed already applying for the transition.. it may be different for basic track. I think the other person who received a blue card is also a transition student.
