Hi everyone! Has anyone applied for the fall yet? I'm studying for my HESI and will be applying soon!
I faced my DO yesterday. It was for a suspended drivers license from 10 years ago. It was suspended because I did not pay a ticket for no insurance. They said to give them 10 days. Once I'm in the system I can make appointment for fingerprints. Once they have everything they will start the review process. May take 30 days or so.
One of the questions asks if any licensing agency has ever suspended or revoked your license you have to do a DO. I CALLED BON and they said drivers license counts. DPS says it shows up on their background check. I'd rather be safe then sorry. You do not have to report class C traffic misdemeanors, but you do have to report if your license has been suspended. At least that's what I gathered. I hope I didn't do this for nothing, because now I am going to be waiting for review and hopefully clearance from BON!
Well crap, I just assumed we didn't have to report that bc it's not on that list of things that we would have to report on that flier I picked up yesterday. I passed the background check to work for the post office 7 years ago, and am still there today. I was hoping that meant this was fine...so what do I need to do? I thought be didn't do background check until after we were accepted? And what list of questions are you talking about?
I'm not sure which flyer you picked up, I have not been to a seminar for the nursing school. I looked on the BON website, and looked at the DO. I went through the list of questions and since I had a previous suspended license, I wanted to be safe. The lady at the BON said that it counts, because the DPS report shows that. You don't have to do your background check until you get accepted. But it says on the Lonestar website that if you have to do a DO, you can start it anytime because it takes a while for them to do the review and give you clearance. Now I'm wondering if I even needed to do it
Well, I'm sure that you will pass anyways, bc it's just traffic violations anyway. I picked up this flier that I saw when I went to submit my application. It says IMPORTANT real big at the top and talks about the things you would need to report. I just asked my friend who is already a nurse and she said that when we go to do our background check it will flag it if we need to do a DO. But if the lady at BON nursing told you that you need to do it then I guess we do..
That's a great score! I am applying to CyFair with a 7.808. I also will not be able to attend any info session, so any information that anyone could share would be great!! Unfortunately I have to wait for clearance from BON for a suspended license from 10 years ago, but hopefully all will be resolved soon, just in case I get accepted!!
