Lonestar 2015 fall hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone! Has anyone applied for the fall yet? I'm studying for my HESI and will be applying soon!

Do not be discouraged! You can still get it to one of the programs, stay positive!

Thank you! Should we start a Facebook group would that be easier?

Hey guys! I just applied for all four schools. I am just hoping to get into any one of them! I have a 6.299 for my score, because I had a C in English and a B in anatomy. I messed up the first year of college and am still feeling the effects of that, but my grades have been all A/B since. The points for my test section are 3.7 because I made a 90+ in all sections and a 100 on the anatomy section. I'm really hoping that will help my chances! Like I said, I applied to all four schools so I'm hoping just to get in one... Feeling a little discouraged about my points though :/

If you would like to create a Facebook group you van. I'm not that tech savvy í ½í¸‚

I suggest that we stay with allnurses until decisions are made then each school makes their own page. That is how it has been done in the past. We only have another week or two before emails go out. Each school has slightly different requirements and deadlines.

I have heard that you should start your DO ASAP as it can take up to 6 months to complete and you can not enter the program until you have been cleared. I have read about people losing their spots for not having done it in time. Does anyone know if a class C Misdemeanor (the lowest level) when I was under 18 counts as something I have to do a DO for?

If it was only a class C misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket or violation, you do not need a DO. If you had any DUI or DWI, or if your license was suspended at any point, then you do need to do one. I'm praying that they don't take too long to review my DO :nailbiting:

But in the questions it says "Have you ever been convicted of any misdemeanor?"....Ugh. I will have to just call the BON and ask as Im hearing so many different stories. On the actual DO it says 30 days then an additional 4 months if it is sent onward for further review. So 5 months max. So it seems you should be fine. You can also call them for an update after 30 days.

It says any misdemeanor, but in small writing it says you do NOT have to report any class C misdemeanors. You should be fine.

I just called the BON. You dont have to report any class C only if it was a traffic violation so she suggested I still send one in. Goodness what a hassle.

You still have to send one for what? You just have class C ones right?

For what? I thought yours were class C?
