Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

So how are we supposed to know before the deadline for those who applied for VN and rn

Just make sure you return all of the documents that were sent and TURN IN YOUR INTENT TO ENROLL BY THE DEADLINE!

What if we applied for rn too like how do we know what to do

Yazi turn in your intent to enroll. just bc you accept doesn't take you out of the running for rn. You can always decline at a later time if you get in the rn program. Atleast that's what the Montgomery lvn program said.

Another two weeks sounds about right. When I turned my app in at Montgomery on the 17th they told me 3-4 weeks and it's only been two weeks. The longest two weeks that is!

Montgomery campus told me the same today. :( 2 more weeks..really? It states on their website that notifications are sent in march....I think they should be accountable for the march notification. I would really like to know soon! Question....so if we do get accepted, will they register us for the classes or do we? And if Montgomery starts in july as it states...do we apply for summer or fall financial aid?

I'm in!! Cyfair LVN will be my back up if I don't get into the RN programs. I had 7.325

With the lvn program at Montgomery they gave us a registration sheet that has all our classes for this summer and we had to take it to the advisors to register. I'm guessing the rn program would be the same. I'm not sure about financial aid tho, my husband and I are paying out of pocket so I didn't pay that much attention during that part of orientation

So I can accept the vn and still get accepted for the rn and switch later
