Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

Ok I'll def submit my enroll I just hope a spot will open theirs no way for us to know what number we are is there

Yes. I accepted my spot for the Montgomery lvn program and we received an email from the department letting us know that accepting the spot doesn't affect us getting into the rn program. Once I find out if I get into the rn program I can give up my lvn spot to take the rn one. Hope this helps. I would assume this is the same for all campuses.

I'm pretty sure you can call the nursing department and they can let you know what number you are on the alternate list

In doing the same. :)

I hope I get a spot :/

I emailed all the campuses. That one was Montgomery. Ugh the wait is killing me because I'm holding this Lvn spot, but I just want to get in an rn program. 2 weeks is too long of a wait. Wish they would at least send an email!

So montgomery rn starts in June? What about north harris and Tomball? What classes are you supposed to take in June for montgomery? I've already had pharmacology.

Gosh I hope not all of then are two weeks!

So the shots that we need are just all titer shots ?

Does anybody know what the start dates for each program were last year?

Their is so much to do for the program but I'm confused am I supposed to submit a background check to the bon even if I have no criminal records ?

Yes you have to get a background check. Everyone does. You'll get fingerprinted then like three weeks later receive a blue card in the mail saying you are cleared.
