I will be applying for the ADN program in January. I wonder if anyone knows of all the "lonestar" schools, which gives the best attention to its NS? This will be a second career for me. I have a Psych degree. I've takenAP I over(rcvd A), and will take AP II in the fall. My GPA is 3.5, and I'd like to keep it there or better. I grad college 15yrs ago...no time to waste if the instructors do not really care??????????pls help with any info...

THX

Ms Eboni,

Sorry it took so long to respond to your ques, but I am not currently in the program, wanted to apply last Jan but LIFE did not permit it. I will be able to apply this Jan, now I have everything in order, no more personal concerns. Hopefully I will see you in the program next period. best of luck to you

Thanks alot..I really hope everything works out for the both of us. :) I have all of my pre-reqs but can you please explain the point system to me.

Eboni,

Once you complete Psy 2301, Eng 1301 and AP I you receive 4 pts if you earn a A in each class. If not then your pts will reflect the GPA that you have earned.

Once you complete 27 - 31 addtl hours you receive 4pts, and

then the calculation of your reading score divided by 25...a perfect 100/25 gives you another 4pts.

Which campus will you apply to?

I hth, feel free to send me a msg anytime, we all are in this together, so we must keep one another encouraged and focused. Take care and I will talk to you soon.

The program at Lone Star Kingwood is very good. It's not easy but the instructors are willing to help if you are dedicated and serious.

thanks Debbie I appreciate your info. Originally I was only going to apply to CyFair only b/c its closest to me, but now I am rethinking everything. For a good ed experience, the drive would be worth it. thanks again

Thanks for the encouragement..I need it! I have B's in those 3 classes but basically all of the co-reqs. And Im not sure where Im going to apply none of them are really close to me..I was thinking maybe Montgomery or North Harris but somebody told me you just order them on your application! Thanks for all your help..seriously!

Mz Eboni, if you have a B in the 3 classes, psyc, engl, and A&P, you gpa is a 3, therefore basically impossible to get in this time around. The best thing you can do if you want to go to Lonestar is retake those classes for an A, thats what i had to do for psyc. The lonestar system is extremely competitive, if you have completed all pre-req and make a perfect score on your HESI(100) you might have a shot. I know a girl who had a perfect score of 8 until the HESI, and she made a 78 on it and her score dropped to an 11.1, she was told she was border lined, so make sure you are prepared for the test all that you can be. For some people it is also easier to get accepted into a university since they accept more students, so apply everywhere. good luck
