Lone Star Spring 2021 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

After a long setback (and a little family tragedy) I am ready to apply for Spring 2021. Since there's only two campuses that have Spring entry, is it prudent to apply to both? What I need to do is retake the HESI and wrap up this "A" in A&P 1. Admittedly, my first HESI was prior to taking the actual class (my overall was 89.6%) and I expect to fare better after taking A&P.

Oh thats great!! Well good luck to you! Hopefully you get accepted!

Thank you. Good luck to you too. Hopefully I will here from you again. I got my acceptance letter last year on August 23rd. So you guys should be hearing from them at the end of the month or 1st week of September. Fall semester was a delay because of covid but we shouldn't be that bad

No I was put on alternative for last application of Spring of 2020. I just retook English to reapply again. I didn't know having an A in English matters if not I would have retaken it before applying. Didn't do my research. Plus I went ahead and taken micro, A &P 2, and pharm to knock them out.

Awesome! Who did you take for Pham?

On this forum I don't think we are allow to mention any professor's name. But I took a teacher from Kingwood an online class. Really enjoy it. If you do the work it is an easy A.

In your opinion how many competitive score do you think are out there For this Spring 7.5-8 and do you think it’s more competitive this cycle or about the same as last year ?

Like you mention before it is pretty quiet on the forum. I think the past forums for 2019 and 2020 have alot of people repeating classes OVER AND OVER again just to get in so there was so many participants. I think this time is less than last applications but still alot. I think it will be the same not more competitive. The competition group was those past years with alot of people applying again and retaking classes and HESI multiple times to get really high score

Does anyone know what the average score for acceptance is?

It varies. But 7.5 seems to be in that neighborhood.

You will have a higher chance if you have taken A&P 2, micro, pharm, psychology. They look at all those factors too when selecting but mainly score out of 8.

A Director I spoke with said they use only the application score to determine admission. In case of ties they go to Critical Thinking scores. Any other classes aren't a factor at all.
