Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Heather Brown for Tomball! Add me please

I would like to know if anybody that was accepted for fall 2020 re-took any of this classes to bump your GPA A&P 1 or 2 lecture or microbio lecture? I would like to know if it affects you when you re-take classes? I appreciate your help

Does anyone have any data or information (historical or gossip!) on declining your offer and going on the waitlist for another location?

I was accepted to North Harris (which is an amazing school!) but it was my 4th choice based on location and I'd like to try for a closer one. Am I crazy to decline and go on a waitlist!?

ANY and ALL info and advice is welcome. Thanks friends!!

Honestly unless you have a personal reason on declining your spot I wouldn’t decline. This time around it was very competitive many people didn’t get there number one. I know I didn’t haha

Honestly I would not just because this cycle was super competitive. Are you trying to go to cyfair? Depending on your score If its not about a 7.699 close to 7.7 I wouldn't do it. You risk not getting in waiting a whole semester or it could be another year especially since all 3 schools Montgomery, Tomball & cyfair had high scores of 7.9- (high) 7.6s get accepted.

I repeated AP 1 and 2 and wish I hadn’t honestly. Some nursing programs will not accept you repeating a class or they will have a limit on how many times you repeat a class. So I would do some research first.

I applied with a 7.65 (91.2 on the HESI and A's in ENGL and BIOL).

just curious you got accepted? if yes to what location?, I remember that North Harris advisor told me that if I re-take classes that kinda minimize my points to get in?

Repeating doesn’t affect you at lonestar

That’s correct, I retook A&P 1 three times and I retook A&P 2 two times. They take the higher grade for the nursing program. I had a 7.63, it was a 6.8 when I was rejected last year. I was accepted to NH for the fall of 2020.
