Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Did you contact IT & the director of nursing?

I will literally be chanting “shut it down” come 3:59 on the 12th ?

LOL I'm hoping that they expedite these letters given the long application period they put us through!

I sure hope so! If we get accepted there’s a lot to get done by August. People were cramming to get all their paperwork done with the normal deadline, this is going to be super stressful.

Yeah it most definitely is stressful! I'm praying that we all get accepted somewhere even if it's not our first or second choice. I'm excited to meet everyone at orientation!

Hi everyone, I am applying for Fall 2020 and my score is 7.64. 91.4 on HESI, A in English and A in A&P2. What are my chances of getting into Tomball or North Harris/ Has anyone heard of any reviews of both campuses? I am trying to decide what to put down for my options. I have T, NH CF, and M as options, thanks

I’ve heard only great things about both campuses. Personally of those two I would just put whichever one is closer to you as your first choice.

For sure, that’s a great score!

I’d consider your commute time for campus selection. That extra half-hour in traffic could make or break your morning. I *think* some of the campuses let you aim your clinical sites on your zip code preference. Cy-fair has not done that in the past, but I’ll suck it up so I can finish Dec ‘21. Good luck, sis!

I recall on the admission sheet that a HS diploma was a requirement, but when I applied there wasn’t a drop box for that file... also curious where I should get my CPR cert out of the way. That would be cool to do as a group activity, since we may not be seeing each other face-to-face for a hot minute. Let’s see.. fingerprints.. background check.. a lifetime supply of highlighters.. I think I’ll be stimulating the economy with my Amazon prime account here this next month.

Thanks, I have a BA so I sent my college and high school transcripts. You can send transcripts via mail or electronically. I am not too focused on distance, since both campuses are between 10-20 minutes away from my apt

I wonder how fast will we receive an answer on being accepted. This will be a short period to turn in all necessary paperwork . How many total spots are there for the fall?

260, last application there were 600 applicants and that’s only going up from there..

Yes . Hopefully the turn around will be quick

Hellllooo all! So I just submitted my application with 7.584. Do you know if that'll be high enough to get into any of the campuses? My order was Montgomery, North Harris, Tomball, and lastly Cy-Fair.

I know Montgomery is likely not an option but any of the other campuses I would be excited to get in! Does anybody know the average scores on getting accepted?

Thanks in advance!
