Hi everyone, I just wanted to create a post for those of us accepted to Lone Star cyfair Spring 2010 Nursing program. I figured this way we could help each other and share all the new information. I can't wait to meet everyone at orientation. I am really excited about orientation. :yeah:

Whoo hoo I found it! Alright... so Mandy I sent you an e-mail. Hmm... well I guess that's all for now. If you get any new info. on anything let me know. So when when will we be done w/ the program??? like anticipated graduation date?

The program is 5 semesters so I believe our estimated grad date is late July or early August of 2011. I received my orientation invitation in the mail a few days ago. I had no idea that orientation would be from 8am to 3pm. Wow, that's a long time.

I was advised by a person in the program currently that if I wanted the morning sections, that I would need to arrive about an hour early to secure my spot (which means 7am :/ ick I am so not a morning person) because it is based upon first come, first receive. Apparently the morning slots are highly sought after. I have not quite decided whether I want to show up that early.

Have you thought of what you might want to specialize in? Me personally, I really want to eventually get my CRNA. But, I guess we will see what fits best through clinicals. I love surgery, ER, trauma, and ICU floors the best. But I am always up for learning new things.

Mandy,

Hmm... well I think I will be forced to show up early for orientation b/c I really need morning classes. I don't know though, at this point I am so thankful I have this opportunity to be in the program that I think I'm almost willing to do any time.

I want to go into peds hematology/oncology. I want to work at Texas Children's Hospital on the 9th floor lol. My son was there for many months last year receiving chemotherapy and other things. One day I want to go to med school and become a dr. but we'll see. I was a kindergarten teacher for 2 years before this and currently am a pre-school teacher so I love kids.

2011... doesn't sound 'too' far away... haha

Hi everyone! I'm excited for the orientation as well!

but I was wondering, what do we need to bring? (paperworks)

Thanks!

Hi All; I'm going to be applying for the Fall start and am currently out of district - zoned for HCC. I really want to attend Lone Star though and am willing to move to area for the class duration. I checked the website but couldnt find the cost of the nursing program. Can anyone guide me to the info online or give me the in district and out of district rates?

Much appreciated!!

Angie
