Hello to all! I wanted to start this thread specifically for those who were planning on applying to the various Lone Star College transition programs starting in 2019. I have seen and posted in the thread for the traditional ADN applicants, but I think the LVN-RN warrants it's own thread.
So, my plans are to apply to both North Harris and Kingwood campuses. I wanted to apply to Montgomery as well, but won't be able to attend there due to their 5-day a week, heavily loaded Summer semester. Just won't work with my work schedule.
Also, I think it's worth mentioning that I have sort of a unique perspective as I was previously enrolled in Kingwood's transition program in 2016, but was forced to leave after the first semester due to an unexpected family emergency. So feel free to ask any questions!
I took the HESI on August 30th and my application score will be 7.71. When I was accepted to Kingwood's program, my app score was 7.74, for any who are wondering.

If it is less than a year old you can but if it’s not you need to go ahead and apply for your DO if that’s what’s needed. Do this ASAP because it can take a while and sometimes they will want to reopen the case and review so you will have to pay the $150. If you don’t have anything that needs to be cleared by the BON then you should receive a blue card soon to my understanding.

No, it’s an actual wait list. Basically you have to get everything done as if you were accepted so that if a student (who was accepted) does not fulfill their requirements, or pass their drug or attend their orientation then they get taken out and the first person on the waiting list gets offered that spot.

This is correct. And make sure you do it. There are plenty of instances where alternates have gotten in. Likely more than you'd think.

I wonder if/when they will inform those of us who do and do not need to go through said process?
Is anybody else encountering this problem with Castle Branch?
On the upload page, where it lists "Emergency Contact and Medical Information Form", I uploaded the form provided by the website. They rejected it stating I have only submitted the medical information form, asking for me to resubmit with the authorization to treat form. I can't see anywhere where the authorization to treat form is provided.
I just tried to call Castle Branch and go figure, the only day of the week they are closed is Saturday.

Hello! I was wondering if you could clarify this for me. So during the summer classes are wed and thurs and one clinical day during the week? Is this the same all semester? Do class times vary as in the hours during the day?
