Lone Star College LVN hopefuls Fall 2019

Wondering who all applied to the LVN program with Lone Star College for Montgomery and Kingwood for this coming Fall 2019. I got tired of waiting on an alternate letter or rejection letter for the ADN program for M, T, CF, and NH. I wonder if they were waiting to submit letters just to see if we weeded ourselves out by applying to a different program. I was going to apply for the CF, K ADN program on June 3rd along with the LVN program but I was told we couldn’t apply to more than one at a a time.

Are you going to the orientation at Kingwood? Or Montgomery? My main email that I got for my alternates spot was from Kingwood but I had selected both. My score is 7.408. When I talked to Kingwood about 2 weeks ago she said I was the 7th on the alternates list. What was your score?

My score, unfortunately, is below 7.0. Had a bum English prof. I had a A in the class then on my final paper he gave me a 50 with no feedback! Grades for the final weren't shown until after the class was over, right before grades were submitted and he wouldn't respond to my email. My grade dropped to a B and that lowered my score for the LVN program by 1 point. I will be at the Kingwood orientation. Hoping for a miracle!

Well I will see you at Orientation. I am so excited to get this started and crossing my fingers we all get a seat in the program. I was told there will be a LOT of movement after orientation.

Hi I have a question. I took AP1 with lab and lecture at HCC and I am looking to apply to the LVN program at lonestar and it looks like they require 2404 for their LVN and 2401 for their ADN anyone know what the difference is?

All you need for the ADN program is Anatomy 2401 or 2402 (whichever is higher). For the LVN program, you can use anatomy 2401 instead of 2404. I believe 2404 is a pre-anatomy class. I know for the associated degree of science plan they recommend a student take the pre-anatomy class to get a basic understanding and then go into the first anatomy course (2401). I have an associate of science and I did not take the pre-anatomy class. I took both 2401 & 2402 in the summer.

For the LVN program you have two options: either take 2404 or take both 2401 & 2402; if you go with the second option , they will use the higher of the scores but you must take both 2401 & 2402. Since you’ve already taken 2401, better to just take 2402 if you haven’t already that way if you decide to transition to RN, you’ve met the pre-req for that program too. ?

Has anyone heard anything about being taken off the alternates list with a spot yet? Thought we would have heard something by now. Has anyone gotten their fingerprint results back yet? I will be calling them tomorrow to see what timeframe I’m looking at.

Yeah I was the idiot that couldn’t remember if I paid for the drug test, LOL, so they made me leave till I found my bank statement proving I paid for it. Luckily I found it and was let back in.

Yes ? I worked in MedSurg on I believe 4th floor. I worked for KiKi and Carmalita about 3 1/2- 4 years ago. I was there for almost a year. LOVED LOVED LOVED it but quit to go back home for a bit.

Oh wow!! That's where I've seen you! I worked there for 6 1/2 years in the Outpatient Lab. KiKi was promoted to VP of Nursing about a year ago and was over the Lab along with all the nursing units. I just quit last August. Small world ?
