Hey everyone I was starting a thread for all the fall 16 hopefuls for all the campus's at lonestar!
I take my hesi feb 18 and nervous doesn't even begin to describe my feelings!!!! Lol, I think I'll be okay on the math portion, it's the grammar and a&p that are causing my sleepless nights!!! Predicates, me or I, prepositional adjectives? Whaaat?? Lol and then a&p because there's soooo much and you have noooo clue what to focus on. I'm a bundle of nerves to say the very least lol
How about yall?!
My first choice is going to be kingwood, then maybe cyfair or north harris, I haven't decided yet, I want to get this test out of the way first!!
And can ya'll believe hcc closed their program down this year..... I was upset about that that was my first pick!
Has anyone taken pharm?.... how is it and what is the best advice you can give about passing the course? I have to take it during the program and I am terrified.
I took Pharm online last Fall concurrently with AP1, and speaking as an LVN who has already been exposed to and learned about a lot of the medications covered, I found it to be quite easy. I would recommend taking it online, for sure, as I could see how taking it in person could be made more difficult. The professor I had online was great, even to the point that at the end of the semester she sent out a notice to everyone who may have had a "0" for an assignment as a reminder that if you wanted to turn it in you could. I did so and received full credit for both.
It's fairly basic, and a lot of busy work. It's structured well and the syllabus is straightforward. Everything is done on a week-by-week basis. If you take it online you can google or look in the book for just about anything on the quizzes.
I would sum it up as requiring a bit of time, but not much effort.
Don't beat yourself up over taking it. Just don't let yourself get behind.
I am taking pharm right now, online 6 week minimester. Like many of the other courses, it really comes down to commitment. I will say that it is quite a blistering pace only being 6 weeks. We have about 6 chapters a week in out pharm book, and a chapter in our dosage calculations book. The material itself isn't really that difficult. If you have a good grasp on the physiology from your A&P you will be fine. Any other questions feel free to message me.

^^^^Yaaaaaahhhhpppp
Save for the pace. If you take it during a full semester, the pace is completely tolerable.

OK so considering I just got accepted for this august I should be fine? Every blog I read says it's very challenging to take while in the program. I'm already trying to pre read and trying to understand the conversions. Maybe I'm over thinking but everyone tells me it's the weed out class and I be darned if I fail before getting started lol. Thank you I will definitely take online into consideration. Does anyone have a specific professor they can refer? I'm attending Cy fair.

Thank you so much for the insight! I tried to registered for the Sumner as well but it was already full and I was terrified of online because I wasn't sure if it may be harder that way. Since your actually in the class would you suggest online or in person during the semester? And what do you find to be the hardest part about the class? Memorizing the drugs, the calculations... what?
