Hi there!!!! So I have been reading the "Hopefuls" forums from previous years and decided that it is time to start our own. I believe that this is a great way to support each other and compare our HESI scores. So here we come, all of the Lone Star students who are planning on applying for the ADN program please share your scores. I am applying to Kingwood for the spring semester 2017. My HESI score is 7.45 and I am a little bit worried that this could be not enough.
Hi there,
I am applying for both the Kingwood and Cy-fair programs in a couple of weeks. I have A's in my English and A&P. I believe my score is a 7.48. I hope this is enough to get in, I also would like to know if you have any pointers on succeeding in Kingwood's program if I am accepted. Good luck everyone!
@Dperez0113 where do you want to apply? It is really up to you. Right now your point is 7.02/8. If you retake and you work your butt off for an A then your point would be 7.5. If I really wanted to get into a program I personally would retake the class so my points are higher. I retook english in a minimester and received an A. I was accepted to Cyfair with a 7.58/8.OR
Try to get accepted with a 7.0. There were some people who did get accepted to NH with a 7.0.
What is Cy-fair's program like?
I'm in at Lonestar Tomball starting in the fall. Here's my question, how difficult is it taking A&P 2 during the program? I'm signed up for it second summer session but with a child in the hospital I'm reconsidering, but I don't want to set myself up to fail later either. I will have pharmacology already done as well as microbiology and music.
It depends on who you take it with. However, I found a&p2 harder than a&p1. It's going to be a beast trying to take that first semester in nursing. If I was you, I would just take it summer session, it's better to get a c in summer then fail out of nursing because there's too much on your plate. I don't really know the personal situation though, so if you have to take it during nursing then that's what you have to do.
My question is for the alternates that have been selected to be in the program after orientation: Has anyone (alternates) been contacted by Surscan to take the random drug test yet? I signed up for it in early June and still haven't heard anything? My family and I are taking our annual family trip next week to New Orleans, and I am worried I will be called to take the test while I am out of town.
Also do they really have you come in for a random test before school starts, or is there a possibility they will do it sometime during the first 3 weeks of school on campus like they did at the nursing orientation for students that were originally accepted? My best friend will also be in Dallas from Malaysia the following week and its hard for me to get my "travel on" while knowing I can be tested at any min.

I've been accepted into the LVN program as an alternate. Really hoping a spot still opens for the ADN program.
