2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hi there!!!! So I have been reading the "Hopefuls" forums from previous years and decided that it is time to start our own. I believe that this is a great way to support each other and compare our HESI scores. So here we come, all of the Lone Star students who are planning on applying for the ADN program please share your scores. I am applying to Kingwood for the spring semester 2017. My HESI score is 7.45 and I am a little bit worried that this could be not enough. :sorry: :down:

Thanks for the update!

Did anyone else get an email confirming they got all the documents? I definitely didn't

I didn't get one either!

I didn't, after hearing others in my class say they did I emailed and received confirmation.

I applied to Cyfair and I got a confirmation email that day stating they received my documents, my points, and to check my email after the 27th of march.

Did anyone that put Montgomery as their first choice get a confirmation email?

Ok, I emailed Heather Clesi at Tomball and asked for confirmation. I'll tell y'all what she says if she responds!

Ok so she answered and said she didn't know, then forwarded my e-mail to Ginger Night, the department head. @KEW787 who did you e-mail, and what did they say exactly?

Okay ladies and gents, fingers crossed that tomorrow will be filled with some news. This is a HUGE distraction and like each of you, I am living in my email and on this forum. Gotta get some clarity!!!

@Rafiatu

I was lucky to have two excellent professors for A&P 1 and 2, so I basically just studied the PowerPoint notes and flashcards that I used in their classes. My lab books also helped tremendously because, in my opinion, they took all of the "important" information out of the textbook and made it concise in the lab book. I honestly didn't even crack open a single textbook because I didn't want to overwhelm myself.

The questions are pretty broad and I don't remember any question being too specific. I think if you know the basic concepts of each body system then you should be fine. I had no idea how to prepare for the Critical Thinking and my score isn't even that good, so I'm not sure what to tell you on that one.

Did any of you apply to the LVN program as well? If so, what was your first choice?

I applied to Montgomery and Kingwood LVN programs with Kingwood being my first choice. I couldn't get over 72% on my A&P section of HESI so I didn't qualify for ADN.
